Which comic book superhero would you choose to be in the SUPPORTING cast of?

I think the questions pretty clear, no? As always I’d be grateful for explanations/justifications/rationalizations. I’ll just set down these ground rules:

  1. While in this universe, you have no more awareness of your role as a fictional character than the average comic book character; you’re not Buddy Baker, in other words. You can decide to be a student at Xavier’s during Morrison’s run, f’instance, but once there you won’t realize you’re in a funnybook. You’ll stay in the universe till the story moves you out.

  2. The characters, at least as far as you’re concerned, will retain their free will. You can choose to be the guy WOOING Wonder Woman, but there’s no guarantee that she’ll come across.

  3. Kindly don’t just say “X-Men,” or “Batman.” Specify a time period at least, or better yet, a specific run.

(I’ll make a prediction as to what will be missing from this list: no one will want to live in the current Gotham City.)

Thor.

How cool would it be to be Fandrall the dashing? You’re basically an immortal Errol Flynn with super strength, speed and wit!

Ladies ho!
I’ll leave now.

I think i’d like to hang out with the Runaways - I think i’m around the same age as the oldest of them, so I don’t think they’d kick me out. They don’t go up against the insanely powerful bad guys regularly. Add my usual reasons for liking them; Molly is possibly the cutest character ever, and Nico’s hot.

There’s so many good answers.

The Young Heroes would be cool. I’d like to work at Meta magazine, meet Bonfire. Magazine by and for superhero fanboys/fangirls. Seems suited to me.

Or a Science Police officer, pre-Waid (pre or post ZH doesn’t matter much.).

If I can’t work at the Daily Bugle or the Daily Planet at Metropolis, I’ll hang around in the Dreaming or the streets of Hellblazer London.

Elijah Snow’s PLANETARY satellite offices.

Ms. Keane’s kindergarten assistant for the Powerpuff Girls.

TOP TEN community relations liasion officer.

T’Challa’s Dora Milage Cocoa Butter Oil Applicator.

I only read 2000AD, in that universe a Judge’s badge is almost akin to a red shirt

Being a cit is not much better…

Well, a sidekick gig to the WW2-era Justice Society Of America would be cool.

But I think I’d go with The Incredibles.

Probably Giffen’s JLI, 1987. Lots of Bwahahahas, no risk of being decapitated by Superboy Prime.

But not the Brazilian one. I know I wouldn’t choose the Wildstorm universe. Too likely to be killed in by a world-conquering menace.

Having collected the Legion of Super-Heroes for 43 years now, I feel like I am a sidekick.

After having read the first volume of Powers, I’d kinda like to work for the police department in that town. Even better, I could be a contractor and make millions fixing all the buildings that get smashed in the background fights between superheros and villians that nobody seems particularly suprised by.

So then you want to work for Damage Control.
