I’ve got one, I hope it’s good enough:
“The death of the Tooth Fairy was a real mystery. Police said the only thing left at the scene was a note, addressed to the Tooth Fairy: You don’t exist.”

Despite the extra clue that the third perp was Irish, used a scalar weapon, stabbed once and then a second time, no one has yet come up with the answer, which is . . .
FinnAgain.
Nope. Close, though! (I didn’t even know about cheezit!)
I guess this means I have to provide another clue:
Some of the crumbs were sharp, while others were mild…

Cheddarsnax!
I would give a clue, but I’m bad at making them up…

But now I’m ashamed of myself for not fully participating, so here goes:
Authorities have received a partial description of an individual wearing the hat and insignia of a ship’s official seen fleeing the scene. He also left a taunting note at the scene informing police that he was not overly fond of them.

CaptainDoesNotLikeYou! I don’t know if I have the spacing and capitalization right, but it’s one of my favorite names.
laina_f, I thought of FinnAgain, but I would’ve assumed he was Finnish, rather than Irish, and I have no idea what scalar weapons have to do with him.
The crime was committed in a verdant, leafy glade with a cool, refreshing scent.
Police informants mentioned that the suspect was decidedly non-melodious, and so was subsequently replaced with an expensive piece of jewelry.
Silly me, I forgot to post one.
Clue #2517: A witness who saw the crime from hiding said he saw a large black man reciting bible verses before enacting his vengeance.
Ezekial 25:17.

Irish, like Finnegan’s Wake. And scalar, like fish scales. Obviously, it was a sucky clue.

See my sig.

:smack: :smack: :smack:
Finnegan! Of course! It wasn’t a sucky clue. The “fish scales” thing was a little obscure, I guess, but I don’t know how we all could’ve missed the Finnegan connection.
And you are correct about my other clue. The answer indeed is minty green.
Engine Clue #3) The police looked for clues, but all they could find was a Cranial Nerve X.
Must have been Vagus. The nerve of that guy!
Cheddarsnax!
Indeed.
The suspect gathered her forces outside the victim’s castle, determined to starve him out.

That’s right! I’ve always liked that user name, too!

Siege!
New Clue: Detectives have confirmed that they recovered a partially plucked goose and several bottles of ink. An note was found written on vellum…
Yup!
Must have been Vagus. The nerve of that guy!
That was Yup! to that. :smack:
Engine Clue #1) The victim was found papier machéd to death, with definite man footprints leading away from the scene.
Hint: A pair of craft scissors and some PVA glue was found nearby.

I picked ** Crafter_Man** out of the lineup.
The victim had been stomped to death; CSI found small traces of crimson leather in the narrow puncture wounds.
