Honestly, almost all of the nu-Who female companions have been cute. Of all the “proper” companions (as opposed to one-offs, or “half-panions” like Rose’s mum,) Donna is the only one I’m not attracted to.

But in the interest of being shallow and superficial, and limiting my choices, I’ll just say my top three (in no particular order) are:

Limited to new Who, there’s really not a companion who I wouldn’t like to take over the Tardis console. Martha is the most beautiful, with Amy Pond maybe tying. I’m rather indifferent to Rose in pretty much every way, shape, and form, but she is nice to look at. Donna’s most like someone I’d actually want to date, and may I add, possessor of the best rack of the new companions. Bouncy castle indeed.

I need to get to know Clara first.

Clara is the FIRST CHOICE IN THE POLL. And I’ve already noted that persons omitted were done so to be cruel.

As to Catherine Tate: there is no Companion by that name. I listed CHARACTERS, not actors. And while I’ll concede that Donna Noble is also less that lovely, she’s funny and engaging as hell. She’s also fairly unique among the NuWho companions in being fairly objective about the Doctor. Rose & Martha were both in love with him; River and Amy love him but can just barely stand him sometimes and periodically must withdraw from his presence to discuss his faults (or gang up on him to destroy his hats).

WHAT DID I JUST SAY?

I love Amy as a character, but damned if I trust her. She’s a two-man woman, and I’m not either of those men.

I don’t remember how I voted and I don’t know how to use the scroll button so I can’t check, but I wouldn’t call Martha gorgeous. She’s certainly beautiful
–probably the most beautiful woman on the list–but beautiful in the way of a painting. Amy is less beautiful, but more hot. River is considerably less beautiful (even allowing for the difference in age), but is far, far more hot.

I’ll go you one further. NuWho is the BEST NuWho episode not featuring Matt Smith, who of course is the best NuDoctor. Why? Because he’s the first one I saw, that’s why, and Rhymer are terribly provincial.
