Which macro beer(s) are you responsible for?

Beer is nutrition and medicine to me. I don’t think I could live with myself otherwise.

I like Watermelon and Lemon, Four Loko. They are really quite well blended for their alcohol content.

Very obvious that you live in Holland! I would second most of your choices (especially leffe and Chouffe) and add Duvel, Korenwolf and Hoegaarden. Also when I just want some generic beer, I might get some Dommelsch…because, you know, it’s cheap.

And by that, I mean if you can’t tell this is a high proof malt liquor, then you have a retarded pallet. I only ever drink one single can/beverage/serving size at a time, why must I be penalized from the most stupid of juvenile binge drinkers? Why is their stupidity more important than my moderation?

Right-o; it’s a pub-crawl as soon as I can get down to Oregon…

Beer in the U.S. is like making love on a raft, fucking close to water.

Sure, of course. That’s one of my standbys. It’s in the same price range as Samuel Adams and Goose Island. I just wish there was something in the less-than-seven-or-eight-bucks-a-six-pack range for me.

I sincerely hope you’re just taking the piss here.

It’s a bit on the sweet side (for obvious reasons) but I’ve always been a fan of JW Dundee Honey Brown. It tastes good and runs as low as $5 a six-pack.

If he drinks beer like the rest of us, he certainly will be!

I don’t drink beer often. My standard order is Corona with lime. But I do enjoy an occasional Sam Adams or Guinness, or pretty much anything that comes in a bottle. No cans.

It’s not 1972 anymore, there are plenty of good beers made in America.

And to the larger point, Sam and Guinness are perfectly good beers that don’t have anything in common with the rest of the garbage on that list except their sales figures.

Yeah, if you love beer, I honestly don’t think there’s a better time and place to be than in America now. And I’m not really a rah-rah AMERICA NUMBER ONE!1!! booster, but between the myriad of micro- and craft brews exploring traditional styles, resurrecting forgotten ones, and playfully experimenting to create news, and the general availability of great beers from around the world, it’s really hard to think of a better place.

I voted Sam Adams, not because it’s my favorite but because in airport bars there is little choice, and Sam actually has flavor.

Actually, Miller/Coors/Bud Lite are all very refined products, just not refined towards your taste. Any homebrewer who’s attempted to make an ultra-light pilsner knows this. Making a 4.5% beer as light-tasting as the big 3 lite beers with under 100 calories per 12 oz serving is actually very difficult. Believe it or not they try very, very hard to make their beer taste like that.

No shit! I have great respect for the abilities of the brewers at Bud/Miller/Coors. I won’t drink their product, but I respect their ability. That was one of my great regrets when we toured the A-B brewery in St. Louis - there wasn’t a single product in the pub at the end of the tour I could drink. But my wife loved it. She got both portions!

I was being sarcastic, but on re-reading my post I guess I didn’t express myself very clearly. I happen to love American beers now and prefer them over the more “robust” beers. They have been described here as “inoffensive” and I would rather not be offended by my beer.

Guinness or Newcastle are the two beers I’ll drink at bars with nothing better.

I also bought a 24 pack of Coors Light once but only because the guys that pulled my car out of the sand asked for it specifically.
