My favorite movies: C., F., R., and especially C.!!!
I’ve been trying for years to figure out what movie people are discussing when they talk about THX1138
This post brought to you by the letter P.
THX-1138. An early work by George Lucas, director of Star Wars.
I really thought I must be the only one misinterpreting “PotC.” I kept wondering why people were spending so much time analysing a lighthearted fantasy tale. Then I found out they were writing about “Pirates of the Carribean.”
While we are at it, to those who post things like, “this reminds me of the ending in this movie.” Would it kill you to write, “this reminds me of the ending in An American Werewolf in London”? It would certainly save lots of unnecessary traffic as readers click on the link to find out which movie the poster meant.
There’s no question in my mind. Flying, Shooting, Killing, and Fucking was the worst James Bond movie yet. And while I haven’t actually seen the sixth one, I didn’t like any of the first five Look Hooz Talking movies. But Hot Potatoes With Jelly Donuts was a classic.
Only when they pry the DTS/THX DVD FMCDH!
Let me get you a tissue …
BTW, IANAI, but IMHO RotK and AotC are the same movie, just with diffrent props. Mad propz to all, dudez.
IANAI – wait a minute, the consensus here is that I AM an idiot …
:smack:
I guess I won’t start that “What’s your favorite Costa Gravas movie?” thread.
I liked F.I.S.T. And Swat. Even SFW had its moments.
SDMB has the Pit, E-I-E-I-O,
and in the Pit we put the flames, E-I-E-I-O.
Clever and correct, as always, Eve.
Help Pilate Whip Jesus, Dude. Hands down the best movie Mel Gibson has ever made.
Don’t you mean Dude, Where’s My Savior?
Didn’t fit any of Eve’s abbreviations. Still, I like the idea of crucifying Ashton Kutcher.
Eve, what person — historical or living — do you most admire, and why?
I know
But what about when we discuss D.A.R.Y.L.?
You’re crazy!!! C sucked, and so did C! P rules!
Strangly enough, I’m going to hijack back to the OP.
It depends on the residents of the thread and what the thread is about as to whether I’ll post in initials or use a full name.
For instance, in a thread about movies in general, I might say, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Or in a thread about TV in general, I would say, Star Trek, Enterprise.
But, if I were posting in a thread populated by Trek Dopers, discussing specific aspects of the Star Trek franchise, I wouldn’t bother with it, because everyone there would know what is meant by TVH and ENT.
I definitely prefer Four Sexually Knowledgable Females
However, I found Harry’s Problem With Jelly Donuts to be occasionally hilarious, and that Long Hair Tries Sausage was the best of the Long Hair movies, FWIW.
