I’m dropping **Fringe **and adding My Own Worst Enemy. I’ve had a thing for Christian Slater since I was a kid, and the show itself seems exciting.
Another vote for Sons of Anarchy. Both the Other Half and I love it for its sheer audaciousness. Masturbation! Total lack of PC-ness! Dynamite shoved in someone’s ass! You name it, they’ve got it. Not to mention, but Jax is hot!! And Ron Perlman isn’t too bad either.
Other than that, I was hooked from the very first episode of the Chef Jeff Project on the Food Network. I can’t wait to see what happens next when our favorite hood rats try to make the grade in upscale cuisine.
None so far.
The one I stuck with longest was True Blood but after I think five episodes I decided it wasn’t working for me.
I’ll give Castle a shot when it appears midseason. Nathan Fillion as a lovable rogue in a romantic-comedy-cop-hybrid show? I’m there.
Also coming up? Dollhouse. Of course.
The newest show to go into regular rotation on the TiVo (as of three months ago, I think) is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Anne Burrell is all kinds of yummy and knows her food backwards and forwards. Fun and informative.
Other than that, zippo.
Mars and Enemy are still too new to have much of an opinion on, but I’m sticking with them for now.
Worst Week I’ve been catching up on On Demand, and think it’s fun (if a bit contrived).
Mid-season carryovers from last year: Chuck, Life, Pushing Daisies I’m still committed to.
I had given up on Heroes, but Robert Forster is awesome, so I want to see what he does on the show (haven’t seen last Monday’s ep. yet).
Another vote for Life (although we started watching it last year, so it is not really “new”). Oh, and the question about the girl? She was the sole survivor in the family murder the lead actor supposedly was guilty of doing, but later proven to be innocent. Still, she is the sole witness, but currently in a semi-catatonic state so that is why he is protecting her - to hopefully find out who actually committed the murders.
Also think Worst Week is the best new comedy to come along in awhile.
Fringe…well, verdict is still out, but still on DVR list.
Eleventh Hour is sort of a mix of House and Monk, will see how long we keep watching.
We’ve got Fringe and Sanctuary on the TiVo but both are kind of teetering on the edge of lame. I’ll probably keep with them both though, because of the cheese factor.
Thank you. That is exactly the right level of explanation-but-not-too-much-detail that I was looking for.
And I seem to be alone on The Ex List – no other female types watching TV this fall?
I’m watching way too much tv - just haven’t caught “The Ex List” yet.
Is anyone watching No Heroics?
You can catch it online.
I watched the first episode. It’s not LOL funny, but humorous. It’s about real-life super heroes. Kinda out of shape, ill-fitting costumes, and they seem more interested in comparing their TV appearances and hanging out at the pub, than actually fighting crime.
That link only plays videos for the UK, levdrakon.
Nitpick–Crews knows who commited the murders (he caught the guy himself). What he doesn’t know is who conspired to frame him for the crime.
Well, my nominee, The Ex List, has gotten axed.
Le sigh.
My Own Worst Enemy is my favorite new show so far. The split-personality concept had me skeptical at first, but I’m really liking it. They pack a lot of action into every episode. I’m on the fence about Fringe, but I’m still watching it.
I think her character is supposed to be Iranian, or perhaps half Iranian. There was an episode in the first season where she spoke Farsi. And I’m glad to hear there are other Life fans out there; I was sure this was one of those shows where I’m the only guy who loves it, and so it gets canceled.
The Cleaner. I passed on Sons of Anarchy and Saving Grace (the one with a cop who kills a guy and has a angel looking after her. might be called Saving Amy).
The Mentalist, simply because Simon Baker (curly hair and twinkly wrinkly eyes) is my new TV husband.
I didn’t watch Chuck much last year but this year I’ve seen every episode and really enjoy it.
Is “Life” switching nights? Does anyone know?
I have an answer to my own question. Life is moving to Wednesdays at 9, for anyone who needs to know.
