Which of these TV series are worth watching? Part Deux

Personally, I think you should have thrown in some titles that just sounded like TV series but didn’t really exist to see who was really paying attention.

I have to give **Heroes **a big ol’ hell no. The first season was good, the rest was not. I stopped watching somewhere along the line, so I never did finish it. Others I watched a good amount of but could not recommend were True Blood and Once Upon a Time, the latter being one of the most cheesy shows I’ve ever encountered.

**Supernatural **is fantastic. **Game of Thrones **is awesome, but the books are better. Terminator was great, but short-lived. Fringe has been a bit of a roller coaster. I’m pretty much still watching only because I know it will be over soon, but I did vote for it. I definitely has its moments and John Noble is spectacular.

I’ve put all my votes in and I would like to second the unlisted suggestion of Being Erica and put in a vote for Revenge.

I would also like to vehemently downvote Legend of the Seeker. Good lord.

Rome and I’ll go off the board and recommend Twin Peaks as well.

Netflix doesn’t have Being Erica, unfortunately.

Looks like Sherlock has pulled ahead of Game of Thrones, with Dead Like Me, Rome and Archer tied for third.

If the OP goes with Twin Peaks, I’d like to remind the readers that I did suggest that upthread

I really don’t think I’m interested in Twin Peaks, sorry. :o I have plenty of material to work with as it is.

I’ve seen very few of the ones listed, but can wholeheartedly recommend Rome as one of the best that HBO has ever done. Acting, sets, history (more or less), directing: all excellent. On a lesser note, Tudors is also a recommendation, as is Downton Abbey (or at least the first season).

Not listed:

The Larry Sanders Show, which is hilarious and finally all seasons are on DVD. It’s worth watching just to see Jeffrey Tambor and Rip Torn at the top of their game. Also, lots of people who were relatively unknown at that time.
Flight of The Conchords, quirky and funnier each time you watch (3 seasons only). Rhys Darby steals every scene he’s in.
The Office (Ricky Gervais version): thick accents, but that’s what CC is for.
Extras: another Gervais vehicle, with some extremely funny bits, particularly with Cate Blanchett and Ian McKellen.
Band of Brothers, if you haven’t seen it. A truly astoundingly excellent series with Damien Lewis.

okay so, it was watchable shite  (I did actually watch the entire season)

Only seen a few of 'em.

Archer: Love this show, absolutely hilarious. Second season wasn’t as good as the first or third, though.

Game of Thrones: I read the books and love them, so I’m a bit biased. But if you think fantasy with a political/drama edge to it is your thing, go for it. Since it’s based off a book series and has a nice HBO budget, it’s much better at characterization and plot than a lot of other TV shows budgeted as serials.

Terra Nova: Meh, you can pass on this one. It had an interesting set up but didn’t do anything with it. TV budget hurt it because CGI is expensive so the dinosaurs barely show up in a lot of episodes. Pretty much the only thing that recommends is it Stephen Lang’s role as the settlement leader (acting quite similar to his role in Avatar, except this time he’s on the side of the good guys).

I watched the whole season too.

Rome & Band of Brothers are both top notch, I agree.

Tudors- not even close.
