Which of Trump's political sins disqualifies him most?

Oh, definitely. Both in the number of promises and in the extremity of them. He approaches Presidential problem-solving like he’s a CEO who can write a memo on any issue and send it off to one of his minions. In fact, he’s even making promises about what other countries will be doing. That’s one serious expansion of Presidential authority there!

But most presidential candidates can reasonably assume they’ll at least have the support of the members of their own party in Congress if they’re elected. Trump can’t be sure of this.

I ended up checking a lot more boxes than I thought I would. No lack of reasons to vote against the guy!

Calling the DNC marketing people!..

Great list - perhaps a campaign of billboards and TV ads in battleground states highlighting these sins would be appropriate. One or two transgressions would be able to be forgiven or explained-away, but except for the extreme cray-cray of the tea party, I cannot fathom how anyone could forgive ALL of them. I guess the “Not Hillary” is strong out there.

I know. You go down the list, and it’s “Yeah, that sucks, check. And that, check. And that, check. And that, check. And that, check. And that, check. And that, check… F*k this guy!”

With Knorf’s blessing, I posted this list on my Facebook. And my Republican friends are already getting huffy about it. One of them said: “I could make a list like that about Hilary.” And I said: “Yeah, well, do it.”

So far, no response.

Thanks Knorf!

It’s hard for them to make a list when they get confused counting past 3.

You’re quite welcome.

Did you use WillFarnaby’s suggestion as well? A solid policy for trade is supposed be part of the GOP’s bread and butter, and Trump’s is whacked.

Poll is missing an “is actively mimicking Hitler” tickbox. You’re in for a fun ride, America.

Well, he hasn’t grown the little mustache, yet.

If you had forced me to pick just one, I don’t know that I could have done it. Gun-to-my-head, I’d probably pick the NATO one. But I could make a case for about half of them as “the worst”.

As it was, I approached it as, “If Hillary Clinton suddenly came out and did/said X, would I change my vote?”. It was interesting and difficult trying to be honest with myself about how much I’d tolerate in exchange for her being elected. If Clinton walked out on stage and mocked a disabled person, would I think it was awful enough that I’d cast my ballot for, say, Jill Stein? Or maybe Vermin Supreme? If she was revealed to have run a scammy business, would I? Some of them were tough calls. I still ticked off about half of them.

ETA: I picked 17, so quite a bit more than half.

“Advocacy of tyrannical domestic policies” for me. There’s plenty that I stridently oppose in that list but a blatant willingness to ignore basic constitutional protections …ahem trumps… them all IMO.

Were it not for that…

Amazingly, we are on common ground here. Everything on the list is reason enough to not vote for the guy, but I thought I only could pick one, and I went with NATO obligations.

When you put it that way, I guess it’s the ‘petulant, thin-skinned overreaction’ that does it. I mean, anything else on the list shows, what, deliberate calculation? We can survive that: one of the items is secrecy, another one is deceit – yeah, okay, that’s awful, but it’s not everything. Heck, it could even be presidential.

Petulant, thin-skinned overreaction? That’s not compatible with being president; it’s a whole different kind of dangerous. I’d genuinely rethink things if Hillary displayed the same fly-off-the-handle and say-whatever-damn-thing-comes-into-her-head schtick, with the same personal hotheadedness powering inappropriate responses.

It wont make much difference shaming the ditto-heads with this list. Facts are not important and they wont vote for Hillary anyway. The people who need to have this ever-growing list hammered into them are those swing state voters. The list in CA and TX wont change the outcome of the election, but in OH, PA, FL it could make a small, and important difference.

I dare anyone to come-up with a list as outrageous as this about Hillary. No doubt there will be some legitimate entries, but nothing like this. All they seem to have is Benghazi and emails. OK, and?..

To clarify, when I said that Trump’s contempt for free speech is his most disqualifying political sin, I was taking into account the likelihood that he would commit said sin if elected. Obviously, WW3 would be a worse outcome than even the most ghastly state censorship. But Trump’s past deeds make it a lot more likely that he would try to use his money (along with the newly-acquired power of government) to punish people who criticized him.

The only quote that relates to this that I’m aware of was “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing.” He’s referring to emails that Clinton deemed “private” and declined to turn over. Is it still espionage if they’re just Clinton’s private emails? We’re not talking about state secrets, unless Clinton lied about the contents of those 30,000+ emails.

ETA: do I have the “honor” of being the first / only one in this thread to sort-of-defend some of his statements / actions?

I didn’t know we were allowed to vote for more than one thing. I voted for the fact that he asked Russia to engage in cyberwarfare against the US because it helps him politically.

Also the OP left out the multiple accusations of rape that Trump has faced.

Ex-wife accused him of rape. A coworker accused him of attempted rape. A teenage girl who said she was controlled by a convicted sex offender and friend of Trump’s (Jeffrey Epstein) accused him of rape.

Him and Bill Clinton, I don’t know. I know that being a major public figure, you are going to be a target. But nobody accused Mitt Romney, Bob Dole, John McCain, George W Bush, Dick Cheney, Al Gore, Paul Ryan, Barack Obama, etc. of any of that stuff.

One accusation could be a fluke (see Tucker Carlson), but when you start getting multiple people saying the same thing it is time to pay attention.

He didn’t ask Russia to engage in cyberwarfare against “the US”, just against Clinton’s personal emails.
