Which posters excite you?

Which posters excite me?

Every poster who never gets mentioned in these threads. I see you there.

Ah shucks. And from a fellow Canadian to boat. Thanks Ginger

I never excite anyone. :frowning: [sub]just ask my wife [/sub]

I would definetly say that I like seeing posts by:

Bad News Baboon - Witty and intelligent.
Mouthbreather - Not just because he is my official stalker either!

There are honestly so many posters over the years whose posts I have enjoyed reading. Too many to name here.

Some fave’s of mine that haven’t been mentioned include:

Maeglin: His knowledge of culture, the arts, and language is always a refreshing addition.

edwino: A new favorite of mine since his patient and thorough handling of the “Does HIV cause AIDS?” debate.

Dewey Cheatum Undhowe: A longtime admirer of his concise and astute observations regarding politics, business, and law.

I personally don’t get excited by anyone. What I generally do is reduce the window size just enough to drag the window to the left just enough to obscure the name of the posters. Then I just read the posts without picking up any baggage of tending to agree or disagree with any individual. OK, I do look sometimes and there are some individuals that impress me more than others- but in general I look for content whether it be from a relative unknown with 120 posts or one of the superstars with 8000+ posts.

Phlosphr

Wang Ka(I have lurked through many of his threads, but never felt intelligent enough to post to one)

Davebear Love pushing that man’s buttons.

Blonde with whom I do not always agree, but am always impressed with the depth of her knowledge and respect her opinion enormously.

And…oy…I can see the ego inflating…Dantheman, who pushes my buttons.

Oh yeah, Wang Ka. Looks like he’s in the lead, huh?

There are too many. This board is the highlight of my day thanks to the plethora of intelligent and funny posters.

However, I will mention Eve because she’s a temptress who makes me add more books to my wishlist on a regular basis. Evil!

Dinsdale
Legomancer

I’ve always felt some strange connection with Sauron & JuanitaTech, they always seem to say what I’m thinking.

I think that Jodi is one of the most kick ass posters on the board.

Trust me, I’m living proof that a high post count has no bearing on ones superstardom or excitement quotient. Or, for that matter, quality of content.

I’d have to say that Mangetout always provides a good read. In addition, he’s far superior to me at controling his temper (does he even get angry?) and providing rational responses.

And of course there are a plethora of other posters here who deserve mention (some have already gotten mentioned).

Well FWIW, I’ve always thought your head is screwed on pretty tight.

Kn*ckers was an absolute riot and very articulate, wise beyond her years–and we miss her. :frowning:
Hope she finds a comp soon!

Alas, “head screwed on right” rarely equals “exciting,” though Collounsbury and december, for instance, were maybe TOO exciting.

I vote for Tomndeb, though he should change his name to JustTom since I don’t think I’ve read a post by Deb. He knows everything I know, better, more of it, and can say it better. He irks the hell out of me sometimes because of it and I get a marvelously shallow pleasure on the rare occasion when I can one-up him.

Polycarp makes me think. I don’t like doing that, preferring to make driveby, off the cuff remarks, but it’s something I need to do.

For some reason, I thought this would be about movie and/or concert posters.

When I was a youngster, that Farrah Fawcet poster got a lot of looks. I mean, a lot.
I like it when posters you know for something else, post in unexpected threads.

Like Polycarp posting in a LotR thread.

His4Ever starting a Star Trek discussion.

Angua playing silly fun games.

Lobsang discussing digital photography.

Tars Tarkas shaming an ignorant Pitizen.

Lynn Bodoni linking to kitten pics.

Et cetera…

Those unexpected posts are excitig. The Dope is a marvy fab place to be in the first place, tho. The mean get disciplined, the extremists get educated (maybe), the boring leave…

99.97% of what’s left over is interesting to someone.

Diogenes always makes me think.

NoClueBoy, however, is just cute.

Ummm… Maureen, you have me kind of confused.

I’ve posted about people who have sex with fruit, people who set their butts on fire, the attempted murder of door-to-door religion salesmen, and the time my bed tried to kill me,

…and you didn’t feel smart enough to reply? Jump in there, honey. I’d hate to think I was impressing anyone with my serene dignity, here.

I like Scylla. He and Sauron both have a gift for discussing the mundane in a way that not only makes me think about it, but elicits a snicker as well. At least.

Other clever folks who keep me comin’ back include Lobsang, Mangetout (who didn’t even gripe when I pretty much hijacked one of his threads), Satisfying Andy Licious, Diogenes, Lieu, Dinsdale, Shodan (even if I don’t necessarily AGREE with 'm)… and… jeez, WAY too many others to list, now that I really think about it…

Diogenes, Scylla, catsix, Wang-Ka, MrVisible (haven’t seen him around for a while, though :(), and last but not least robertliguori, who has certainly started some interesting and unexpected threads!
