Which Rock & Roller would make the best President?

I vote for Henry Rollins. Eloquent, intelligent, and pretty damn intimidating.

[Alice Cooper]
I’m your top prime cut of meat, I’m your choice
I wanna be elected
I’m your yankee doodle dandy in a gold Rolls Royce
I wanna be elected . . .

Springsteen has the “grassroots, appeal to the blue-collar man” thing going on. I bet plenty of people would vote for that.

Ted Nugent of course. Free firearms dispensed to the masses when they register to vote !! (as long as they’re Republican)

I second THAT!..MOTOR CITY FUGGIN’ MADMAN FOR PREZ!

Nugent would have the racist and sexist strikes against him. Although that might just help him nail down the far right. :stuck_out_tongue:

Jello Biafra?

Jeff Skunk Baxter:

I think we’re all in agreeance that it would be Fred Durst.

Neal Peart. I know, I know…he’s Canadian. Still…

Ted Nugent would have the problem of explaining how he avoided the draft and/or the Vietnam War. (He was of draft age in 1968). Oh wait - that wasn’t a problem for the last 2 presidents was it ?

Keith Richards

I dunno, Bono? I’ve always liked him.

I’d vote for Eddie Vedder (and not just because I’ve had a crush on him for the past decade or so), although I doubt anyone as far to the left as him could hope to be elected anytime soon.

The Democrats shouldn’t be looking to Hilary Clinton, they should be looking to George Clinton. He’d drop the funk bomb on the Republicans.

Prince and Ani DiFranco, as heads of their own successful labels, have had to balance budgets and I’d never vote for someone who couldn’t do that.

Willie Nelson could make the best tax reforms, and you know he’d legalize it.

Billy Joel could get my vote. But I’m not buying his classical album.

Do I even have to say it?.. Ozzy.

Non-citizen/birth issues aside, I was thinking that if you liked Dubya Bush’s past drug abuse and coherency issues, you might like Keef.

I happen to agree about George Clinton, though.

I’m answering based upon who I think would perform well in the job, not who would be electible.

The late Frank Zappa.

Jimmy Buffet would probably do a good job.

Bob Dylan would be a hoot.

I would definitely vote for a David Byrne/Brian Eno ticket. Or Eno/Byrne. As long as they promised to make Robert Fripp Secretary of State.

I vote for Fred Schneider.

“Don’t let it rest on the President’s desk! Rock the house!”

Now, there’s a man who would get things done!

Mojo Nixon.
Obviously, with that family name, he’s got politics in his genes. And we need to put a Sex Mo-Sheen, in the White White House. Cuz Bushy Bushy Bushy is a Pussy Pussy Pussy:
