Which song from the last 10 years rocks the most?

I can’t believe that no one has listed Wolfmother - Joker & the Thief from 2006.

I am totally swamped at work, but trying to monitor this thread. This is a great choice - love that riff. Also like suggestion of Wolfmother, but would put their song Woman as the choice - Zep meets Deep Purple:

Man, there seems to be a LOT of potential choices among the various genres and subgenres out there. It’s tough to pick just one. Here are a few that popped into my head:
Foo Fighters - Rope
Opeth - Lots to choose from, but I’ll go with a recent song, Cusp of Eternity
A relatively new band which I think has been making some great rock, Nico Vega - Beast
Melora Creager - Sky is Falling (OK, just kidding about that last one being “rocking” per se, but I think it’s fun!)

AWOLnation: “Burn It Down

Knife Party: “Bonfire

Baroness, Take My Bones Away.

Filth In The Beauty by The Gazette. 2007

(I listened to this song for months before I found out it was in English:smack:)

I prefer this fucking 10 hour long remix of Sail

That did indeed rock. A bit of a QOTSA sound. They have albums on Spotify.

Lots of QOTSA to choose from but I’ll put up My God is the Sun

Can’t link to it from work, but if you liked Baroness try Mastodon, who also rock very loudly, and are on Spotify.

I quite like the way this thread turned today. There’s a bunch of Mastodon and Baroness on Amazon Prime that I’m pretty sure is going to be the soundtrack to work tomorrow. I also can’t believe that I forgot how awesome that first Wolfmother CD was. Keep them coming!

Mastodon, Black Tongue.

Truckfighters, Desert Cruiser.: very much a Kyuss vibe from these guys.

Karma To Burn, Waiting On The Western World.

The Pretender - Foo Fighters

Reminds me of old Cheap Trick.

How about Katy Perry’s Hot n’ Cold?

No no no! Just kidding!

I know lots of people say they sold out long ago but Metallica’s I Disappear is about as hard rock as you can get…

Agreed on the rocking-ness of that song, but it doesn’t qualify. Released in '00. Which is why I went “The day that never comes” ('08) instead.

Galactic - Heart of Steel

Funny - my first thought was his song The Descent from the same album.

Yeah that rocks, but the first song I had in mind was Long Road To Ruin". It’s one of the few songs mentioned in this thread with mainstream success (along with the White Stripes and QOTSA), so I once heard an announcer (they’re not DJs, and they never comment on songs the software splurted out) on my local lame ass format radio station exclaiming in awe after “playing it”: “Was’n Brett!” Now that’s kinda hard to translate verbatim, but he basically meant: “Wow, that shit rocked!” And if a rock song generates that such a heartfelt reaction on one of those lifeless clowny stations, it must mean something.

(Sorry for the little rant).

I’m gonna vote for Avenged Sevenfold Save Me.

Any song with the word “steel” in it rocks by definition.

There’s plenty of amazing rock still being made. For instance, Kylesa with two drummers makes songs like this and this.

Then there’s shit like this and this by Lightning Bolt.

Not to mention there’s all sorts of indie bands doing crazy shit like Fiasco (garagey math punk), The Sword (lovely Black Sabbath riffs), and then there’s this epic Springsteen impersonation from Titus Andronicus.
