That was indeed hysterical. Now I’m listening to Scatman John.
Hey, I remember what I was going to protest! Justin Bieber is not American, unless you guys want to give up the fight that it’s okay to call citizens of the United States American when in fact all citizens of all the Americas are Americans! But that’s probably not important right now…
Oh yes! The smoking episode is one of the funniest ever. Martin says that he’d have a ciggie and a wagerglass full of Scotch and the cigarette always made him sleepy. Yeh, that’s it. After Bebe describes the act of smoking in orgasmiic terms everyone starts craving them
The first thing that sprang to mind was The Office - the one where Michael burned his foot. I distinctly remember pausing the show to laugh.
My Mr. Bean moment is when he tried to prepare the turkey.
Not only is the *Coupling *Lesbian Spank Inferno description tear-inducing (“I think they really felt quite bad”), the whole episode is gold. Jane arguing that she’s gay and a vegetarian because “I know lots of gay people and we enjoy the same films,” and dragging her therapist to dinner as her date, finally inducing the therapist to lose it and call her an insane bitch is priceless.
(Jack Davenport is just generally brilliant. Many people could make the uncomfortable recounting of a porno at a dinner party funny, but he also holds the record, in my opinion, for best delivery of a hilarious single word line, when he reacts to Jane’s auntie dying.)
The one where Sally simultaneously finds out why Susan called Patrick “Donkey” and also that he’s a raging conservative is great too. “It had better be enormous Patrick!”
My favorite Everybody Loves Raymond scene is when Robert and Amy get caught fooling around and she rushes upstairs wearing only Robert’s pants.
dunno if anyone has mentioned here, but the British game show Catchphrase. Some 20yrs ago, they had a cartoon puzzle revealing a banana figure doing something naughty with a snake unintentionally and the audience, the contestants, and the host was up in stitches. You can see it in Youtube under Catchphrase, snake charmer.
In “Blazing Saddles” when the new sheriff (Black) reaches into the front of his pants and says ‘Let me just whip this out for you’ and pulls out a document!
I would have thought that episode was a lot funnier if it hadn’t been a total ripoff of Mr. Bean when he got his watch stuck in the turkey and ended up with it on his head. That made me laugh until I thought I was going to pass out.
