Which "Who" Song in Claritin TV Ad?

Have you seen the ads for Claritin, the allergy medicine, on TV? The ad plays an instrumental part (the lead-in, IIRC) to a certain “Who” song, but the name escapes me…

What “Who” song is that, and is it from “Tommy”? If not, on which album would I find it?

It’s sounds like it’s the Overture from “Tommy,” but it’s pretty chopped up. Since the Overture is a pastiche of several of the songs from Tommy, what’s on the commercial could just be a cut and paste job from the songs themselves.

It’s definitely the Overture from Tommy. AFAIK it is only available on the Tommy album, but you should be able to buy a copy at any music store. Look for the blue waffle cover.

I have the song in my mp3 collection. It’s entitled “Listening to you” (because that’s the chorus), but when the song is played on my local classic rock station, it’s tacked on to the end of another, longer song. So I don’t think “Listening to you” is the real title. I still like it though. :wink:

Thanks, y’all… I’ll have to start playing my “Tommy” CD again! I fall into ruts, and forget to mix up my own collection when I have the freedom to pick what I want to listen to on my own.

Now, if I wanted to be really anal about it, I should use a random number generator to pick the CDs for me out of my library, for proper mixing… :smiley: - Jinx
