While waiting for the SDMB...

So dopers: what do you do while you’re waiting for a thread to be displayed, or your reply to be posted?

I go through phases - currently I’m addicted to solitare but on one occasion I was able to go cook a hot dinner whilst waiting for a thread to load:dubious:

Cheers,
DC

Hearts - approximately 100 games per night.

Phew! So I’m not the only one!

Ever do anything else?

Work!

How ironic. The boards have been fine all night, then I click on a thread called “While waiting for the SDMB…” I find myself waiting for the SDMB.
The first thing I do is check the news at news.bbc.com

And then I’ll sit back and give my mouse-arm a rest.

Then I’ll surf the 5 TV channels (no ‘channel 5’ the 5th channel is the SKY feed)

Then back to the SDMB.

How ironic

manic evil, evil laughter

work.

All these people saying ‘work’ are making me feel guilty…I have big exams in about a month and should be revising my ass off :frowning:

Maybe if I read lecture notes while waiting for the SDMB?

Freecell

Having said that I’m no longer quite so concerned about my solitare habit having seen that it appears to be quite common:D

Generally, solitaire. But sometimes I open up a new browser window and look at random internet stuff while I’m waiting.

Cards, like hearts or solitaire. Sometimes I read threads I saved, if I get organized. Lately things have been fairly zippy around here. Knocks on wood

I usually either keep a book/magazine within reach to keep me busy while I’m waiting or bring up another browser window.

I have a toddler… she keeps me quite occupied while waiting… Actually the boards usually load and then I get back to them while she’s otherwise occupied

Surf the net

Read, I usually have a paperback in reach.

Have another window open, say interesting-people or the register or robotwisdom or museumofhoaxes; trying snopes but it’s slower than the sdmb, at least tonight.

me, I check my bank account and adversaries.

I usually pop over to ESPN to see if there’s anything I haven’t read and/or watch some TV

Snort!! Giggle!!!

Damn you!! you stole my answer!!!

Being a Brit-doper i rarely have to worry about it being sluggish during the day

So during the 30ish minute down-time period around 10am (our time) i do all my work for the day.
