Keep in mind ebay deletes these listings because they are fraudulent. But apparently you don’t think ebay has a right to decide what is fraud or not on their own services.
That reminds me: Dorjän said this kind of stuff happens “all the time” and then posted one example of… something, maybe a candidate using the same name as another candidate. (If so, that’s beyond the pale whether a Republican or Democrat did it. See how easy that was?)
You are Bidding on a picture of a Apple iPod Video Black 30 gb that is BRAND New In BOX. As you can see in the picture it has never been opened. I Only Ship to the continental United States. I do not ship to PO Boxs. This is an as is sale There will be no returns. Payment is due within 3 days of sale ending. Thank you for looking at my sale and Happy Bidding!
Anyone who sent a lot of money to the seller and got a picture got exactly what he was bidding on.
I already know what the seller would say. Yeah, it’s really stupid that anyone submitted a bid at all and I’m familiar with the saying about a fool and his money. But I know what a technicality is, and I still think people who prey on others are more culpable than people who get tricked.
Anyone who (as in that auction) expected to get an iPhone for $120 (while at the time they cost something like $500) was fooling (or, if you prefer, “tricking”) himself.
“Original box” is how things are usually listed on ebay, due to the need to save space. A 2 minute look on ebay would show this, but that would require effort on your part.
But thank you, you have done an upstanding job of demonstrating what kind of person you are - it doesn’t matter if you purposefully try to fool others be it in elections or business or whatever, well, it’s their fault anyway. They deserved it. That’s conservatives in a nutshell.
On the first page of “iphone original box” is, discounting any that are only selling boxes without phones:
APPLE iPhone 4S verizon WHITE 32gb clean ESN original box
NEW Lifeproof Waterproof iPhone 5 Case Authentic White/Grey Original Box
Linksys WIP320 Linksys Wireless-G Skype iPhone Wifi Phone ORIGINAL BOX
Apple iPhone 4S 32GB White AT&T Unlocked Original Box MINT CONDITION
Mint Blossom SwitchEasy Case-Original Boxed For iPhone4 4SUSA SELLER
**Apple iPhone 4s - 16GB - White (AT&T) Smartphone, original box!!
Apple iPhone 4s - 16GB - Black (Sprint) Smartphone - original box - good ESN
Apple iPhone 4 - 16GB - White (Factory Unlocked) Smartphone Original box and acc
…and then I got bored around halfway down the list.
In any case, I’m done. You tried to derail this thread to help defend dishonest politicians. You succeeded, but in the process also proved you think it’s ok to cheat and scam people for your own gain, as long as you can portray them as less intelligent than you.
Good God, Terr. You think it’s ethical for folks to create an auction that intends to deceive, if they have fine print telling the truth, and that if someone is deceived by an intentional deception, there’s no blame attached to the person intending to deceive?
Good God, Hand. There is no “fine print”. It’s the first sentence in the description, for crying out loud. In normal font. As in “You are Bidding on a picture of a Apple iPod Video Black 30 gb that is BRAND New In BOX.”
Or in the other case as in the title of the auction “Apple iPhone 8Gb Original Box and Manual”. Not the phone. Box and Manual. It’s not like selling the box and a manual without the phone is unheard of - it happens quite often.
There is a minimum “due diligence” expected of a buyer. If the buyer decides that he’s getting something that is clearly NOT in the description of the item, it’s not the seller’s fault. Especially when that buyer thinks he’s getting the item for 20% of what it should sell for.
Many different auctions have been listed, so it’s tricky to discuss the details–I was talking about the one you just linked to, which doesn’t even clarify in the fine print that there’s no there there.
Would you explain what you think the honest market is for pictures of iPods that are BRAND New in BOX? Is this something that’s a hot commodity? Do you genuinely think there is anyone out there wanting to purchase such a picture and for whom the BRAND New in BOX is a key selling point for the photograph? Do you genuinely think the seller was intending to be forthright and intended no trickery?
Edit: the auction you listed says “Apple iPhone 8Gb Original Box and Manual.” It beggars belief to think you’re unaware of advertising shorthand, in which that title would usually refer to an Apple iPhone 8Gb [sold with its] Original Box and Manual. But belief sometimes must be beggared.
The price on the auction was $120. IPhone at the time of that auction cost $500+. Whatever buyer thought he was buying an iPhone for $120 was fooling himself, not being fooled.
Terr, I note that you’ve not answered a bunch of direct questions, instead choosing to rephrase things as a politician would do, hewing to talking points. You’re welcome to try again.
