Who are your favorite married sitcom couples?

Tobias and Lindsay Fünke

So little love for Tom and Barbara Good, I’m disappointed, there’s still some branching out to do.

Hey, I’ve been off-line all weekend!

Gomez and Morticia were my first thought. Tom and Barbara were second.

Dunphy for the win! Okay maybe not in everyone else’s eyes, but they have me envious. It could be my little crush on Phil though.

I voted for Burt and Virginia because, no matter what happens, you can tell that they genuinely like each other.

You poor things!

I voted for the Huxtables and Hartleys as tied-for-second-placers, but the winners are Gomez and Morticia.

Also, did y’all who are voting for Dan and Roseanne see the last episode of the show?

what happened in the last episode?

It’s revealed that Dan’s heart attack from the previous season was fatal.

If we’re going to nitpick about favorite couples just because one of them happened to die let’s not forget:

Paul and Jamie Buchman split up, although the finale suggested they would reconcile
Archie and Edith Bunker Edith died, and left Archie with tremendous guilt because he didn’t acknowledge she was sick
Burt and Mary Campbell Burt killed Mary’s first husband, although they got past it
James and Florida Evans James died, Florida abandoned her kids
Dick and Joana Loudon Strictly speaking, that’s just Bob Hartley fantasizing about another woman – come to think of it, that doesn’t say much for Bob and Emily, either!
Darrin and Samantha StephensSamantha got tired of Darrin and turned him into a completely different person
Chester and Jessica Tatedivorced
And these are just sitcom couples. Let’s not even get into nighttime drama!

Good point, kunilou, and well worded.

I really like Dharma and Greg.

My problem with Dharma and Greg was actually pointed out by Greg in one ep, but never addressed permanently. Dharma thought her way was the only way - whatever Greg and his family wanted was always wrong because it wasn’t touchy-feely and free-spirited, and so it had to be done her way. If you’d reversed the dynamic - free-spirited hippie learns to stop acting like a flake and do something with his life thanks to wealthy, intelligent gf - she’d be seen as a controlling bitch. Put her in tie-dye and she’s quirky and fun.

I almost voted for the Keatons, but as I had a HUGE crush on Meredith Baxter, her husband was my deadly enemy. He didn’t redeem himself until Tremors.

LOL! We learned our lessons better than they did. We celebrate our 20th anniversary next month.

I’m trying to picture mellow Steven Keaton as anyone’s deadly enemy and I’m not having any success.

Yes, but Dear G-d, the thing with the cookies, and the thing with the bathroom door lock!

What no Burt and Ernie, they weren’t animated.

Burt Gummer/‘Broke into the wrong goddam rec room didn’t ya, you bastard.’/BG

Actually, can I add Burt and Heather Gummer?
