Who are your LEAST favorite teams?

I only really get legitimately upset about Duke basketball, U of Florida/Miami football, the Red Sox, and Chelsea. Other teams it comes and goes; used to be Germany in the World Cup, used to be the Cowboys, Jordan’s Bulls, etc.

Oh, and Giants fans, I understand the rivalry and want you to know there’s no hard feelings. Good luck this weekend.

(If it’s possible to exclude Varlos from my once-annual shit talking I’d like to do so at this time)

MLB: Red Sox because they’re the Red Sox. Others I hate because I don’t think their town/state doesn’t deserve a team: Florida, Tampa Bay, Arizona, LA Angels.

NFL: Indy Colts for the way they left Baltimore, plus Peyton Manning. Also Texans, Titans, Jags, Panthers just for being there.

NHL: Any team that isn’t either Original 6 or Canadian.

NBA: Don’t give a crap.

NCAA: SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC.

My dislikes

MLB: The Empire
NFL: Jets (home team’s rival)
Don’t get worked up enough in the other sports.

Have you noticed the Raven haters ignore the whole Colts moving / Baltimore shafted in the expansions (how well is Jacksonville / Carolina working out?) when Cleveland got to keep the history / name /etc?

There’s a whole lot of selective memory out there…

NFL: Patriots. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the Patriots. I hate the Patriots with the fire of a thousand suns. If they were all to be murdered in cold blood by Satanic Fascist Nazi Zombie Terrorists, I would shed no tears. Oh, and as a Redskins fan, I hate the Cowboys too, I rejoice in every misfortune and always root for whatever team is playing them, but I still hate the Patriots more. That’s how much I hate the Patriots. When they play eachother, I actually feel physically ill because it forces me to root for the Cowboys, a cardinal sin as a Redskins fan, which just makes me hate the Patriots even more. Also, if you’re a Patriots fan, I hate you too. It’s moderately forgiveable if you’re from Boston and were a fan of theirs from more than 10 years ago, but few that I run into are. So many of the Patriot fans I run into are bandwagon fans, who are the worst kind of fan, which just makes it even easier to hate the Patriots and their fans.

MLB: I don’t really care about baseball, but I hate the Red Sox. They’re every bit as bad as the Yankees, whom I also hate, with the huge pay roll, but their fans are so much more obnoxious about it. Also, they’re from Boston, which means they have the same stink of the Patriots and the Patriots fans.

NBA: I hate the Celtics. Why? Because they’re from Boston, and that’s where the Patriots are from. Guilty by association. Also, I don’t like that they mispronounce their name, but that’s relatively minor compared to being from Boston. I hate the Spurs too, but not as much as I hate the Celtics.

NHL: Meh… don’t care enough to muster up any hatred for any team. If I did, I’d probably hate the Bruins since they’re from Boston too. Fortunately, they haven’t been any good recently, so I haven’t had to hear all the obnoxious crap from Boston sports fans about them. You know what, screw it, I hate the Bruins too.
By all means, if anyone else can give me more reason to hate Boston teams or other teams from Boston that I should hate, I would greatly appreciate it.

Red Sox
Cowboys
Eagles

In the past: 49’ers

Even when I regularly watched the NBA, no team rose to hatred. As to the NHL, long ago the Flyers but that was long ago.

NFL: Dallas Cowboys. I still resent them for the stupid pre-snap bob they did in the 80s.

Soccer: Italy. The worst combination of hacking play, poor sportsmanship, and “ow, my shin” flopping in history.

Yankees.

I used to hate the Cowboys, but not so much since they stopped being relevant. If you forced me to dislike any other teams, I suppose I could work up some ire toward the Lakers and Canadiens, but not really. College the only team I can work up anything against is U. Maine for beating UNH in hockey a bunch of times.

MLB: Cardinals, White Sox, and the Yankees. And the fact the AL exists period.
NFL: Packers, Vikings, The Rest of the NFC besides the Bears
NBA: I generally root against the NBA period.
NHL: Red Wings, Blue Jackets, Blues, Sharks, Ducks and the Stars until they’re returned to Minnesota. Also the Hartford Whalers for all eternity. And the Kings.
NASCAR: Anyone not crashing.
Tennis: Everyone
Soccer: Manchester United, Real Madrid, all American soccer teams.

NCAAF: Georgia (the whole SEC, really) and Notre Dame.
My first game as a college student was the GT Yellowjackets vs. ND. Big game, really exciting. I was in the GT student section, minding my own business when some drunk Irish fans started trying to push their way into the student section. Most obnoxious, self-entitled fans of any team I’ve ever known. And the vast majority of them have never visited Notre Dame, let alone attended college there.

NCAAF: Michigan (I’m from Columbus originally), Notre Dame (that holier than thou shit), Boston College (because I’m a UMass dad and BC looks down on them. And because they think they’re Notre Dame)
MLb: Yankees, but not so much as in the Billy Martin / Reggie Jackson / George Steinbrenner years - too much classiness by Torre and Jeter et al. fixed that.
NFL: Oakland, because Al Davis is such an embarrassment to, well, humanity, and because they coddle assholes.
NBA: Lakers, but mildly because I don’t care that much about basketball
NHL: None really
Premiership: Man U, because one is *supposed *to hate them, right?

MLB - Chicago Cubs
NFL - Packers, Cowboys, Rams
NCAA - Kansas
EPL - Chelsea, Man City

NHL: Detroit(bitter about 2002, and #2 NHL team is the Blackhawks), Pittsburgh(drunken fans in my arena, and dirty players),Buffaslugs(drunken fans), Crapitals(Ovenchicken is a dirty player)
NFL: Bears, Viqueens, anybody who hires the Traitor Farve.
NCAA: UNC, Duke, unless they play UNC(I’m an ABC fan:Anybody But Carolina)
MLB: not a big fan, but Yankees

I hate teams with terrible management. Teams whose ownership doesn’t care about the fans and put out terrible teams that have no chance of winning, year after year. Like the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Also, it’s time to put to rest the “Yankee fans are bandwagon” bullshit meme. It happens to any team that wins, but regular Yankee fans are just as devoted as any other fanbase.

NFL Cowboys, 49 ers, Oakland Raiders
College football… Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma
Baseball… Yankees,
NCAA Basketball… Duke, Kentucky, Ohio State
NBA… referees, Lakers, Miami,

Jets, Colts, Packers, Yankees, Rangers. That about covers it.

Oh, and the Cowboys, but that goes without saying.

NFL: Packers, Bears, Steelers, Jets, Ravens, Cowboys, Raiders…Worst playoffs ever.

MLB: Yankees, Mets, Phillies

NCAA Football: The SEC except USC and UF, USC, Texas, Texas A&M

NCAA Basketball: UNC, Kentucky, any Pitino team, Kansas

As a devoted Pirates fan, I not only understand this, but applaud it. The ownership of teams like the Pirates should be forced to sell their franchises for the good of the sport. But nothing happens, and the fans (and the game, ultimately) suffer.

Ownership, coaches, the media, fans and players (in that order) cause me to hate certain teams. So, with that as a backdrop,

NFL - Cowboys - LOATHE Jerry Jones. The media slobbers over this team every year and they haven’t done crap since the mid 90’s. Ravens, mostly because of Ray Lewis, their mouths and their fans. Jets, ONLY because of Rex Ryan. Patriots because of Belichick.

NHL - Red Wings.

NBA - I hate the sport, but Kobe holds a special place for me. I used to really like Lebron, but the Decision turned me off completely.

MLB - Yankees and Red Sox (mostly out of jealousy, since as a Pirate fan I can only dream of an owner that would care enough to spend money and try to win.)

College - Anything Penn State.
