The search function vanished when this transition period started, so I can’t search for some users that I’ve interacted with and trust. In the big ATMB thread about how to pay without CC or paypal, it’s been suggested that a user can pay another member to do the subscription and that a lot of Dopers have volountered. But without the ability to search, I can’t find them.
I’m not even sure this is the right forum, but it is asking for advice.

Ed Zotti has answered this question several times in the relevant threads, including the ones marked with words to the effect of “post all subscription questions here.”
I paid by VISA. If you don’t have a VISA, you can mail them to me if you want, then I’ll pay them.

Well, juniormod furt, I have read Ed’s replies, but with 12 pages (600+ posts) only in one thread in ATMB, and no search function, it’s not that easy to find any of those “numerous” posters that have said they’re willing to that favor to us without a CC that can be used for PayPal.
If you’ve got a problem with that, I suggest you report my OP or e-mail a mod.

Well, whaddya know? I can’t access the profiles either. Makes it kinda hard to look up a users e-mail… sigh
So, respectfully, xash, If you guys want my money, it would be better if you made it easier for me to pay, or at least let me find the information that I need to pay. Without search function or the possibility to check for the profile of users wanting to help out, it’s getting more and more difficult.

Thanks, don’t ask, but I can afford it and still eat, so I’ll do it through Winston, since we’re only a couple of miles apart, the mail will get to him overnight. It’s just that PayPal won’t accept my CC, and my bank doesn’t know what PayPal is. I only found out yesterday after travelling for a week, and only got the e-mail with information today. That e-mail refers to the original thread which isn’t all that easy to go through.
Anyway, if Rune will do me a big favor and mail me per_penna at yahoo.se we’ll sort it out there and this thread can be closed.

If a mod sees this - please close the thread. Since I can’t find your e-mails, profiles being disabled for guests, I can’t send you a note to this effect. However, some helpful friendly people have shown up, so problem is resolved and while it might take a while longer, I’ll be a charter member within a week. Then I’ll be able to use the search function again, so maybe I won’t annoy you, furt.
It sounds like you got the problem handled, but if not – I would be most pleased to subscribe you, and I don’t even want a fiver – after all the help you gave me with Buffy episodes, I figure I owe you about three years’ worth of subscriptions.

Rick - thank you for the kind offer. I’ve allready fixed it with Rune - “Winston Smith”. The tech staff at PayPal has adviced me on how to send them money without a CC, so that’s another, albeit slower, option.
