“How do you suppose that an elephant got into Groucho’s pajamas?”
I carry a cloth bag with a big $ on it.
I tried one for a while, just wasn’t comfortable carrying money that way. I would carry one daily if I’d won a memorabilia auction a few years back… I was close-but-no-cigar on Jack Benny’s money clip. Short of maybe a Rockefeller’s, that would have been so damned cool to have…
I haven’t used a money clip since I was a kid (mid 80s). I usually just left my money loose in my pocket with any cards in my wallet. Now that Interac is king in Canada I don’t use cash anymore. I have a Basics wallet and keep a ten in the cash pocket and have a 20 in my key chain for emergencies but I’ve had those bills for at least a year now (still the old paper bills).

Exactly what it says on the tin.
To answer the OP as a serious question, I once used a magnetic cash clip, but found (A) I don’t routinely carry cash, so a separate clip is not worth it, (B) I’m forgetful, and while I always carry a wallet for identification, I wouldn’t necessarily remember to carry a clip for cash if I did have it, (C) the magnets had a habit of erasing credit card magstrips, and (D) I carry my wallet in front, so the bulge is lost against the unavoidable bulge that’s always there. (See, that’s a stealth brag.)
So no. No cash clip for me. Even if my wallet (carnivorous) is stuffed full of singles , carrying it in the front pocket means it’s not particularly uncomfortable or inconvenient.
ETA: before some clever Dan makes the joke about my wallet stuffed full of Kraft singles, note that my wallet is carnivorous, not ovo-lactarian.
I carry this…
First one lasted over 20 years, then the scissors broke. Victorinox replaced it for free! I lost one to TSA, they like them also. Put it in your checked bag.
The clip is great. It will securely hold one bill, or a wad like the OP has.
You know you can trade all those ones in for larger denominations, right? A twenty doesn’t take up very much space.
I found a silver dollar money clip in the road when I was kid. Years later I tried using it but it seemed like too much trouble. Someone have me a gold money clip years ago but it sits in the box with a wristwatch, two pocket watches, a couple of tie tacks and cufflinks. It’s just not worth bothering with them, and I’d just end up breaking them or losing them if I actually used them.
The last person I saw use a money clip was my grandfather, and that was more than 20 years ago. How old are you, Arrogant Bstrd? Do people under the age of 60 use a money clip these days?
I don’t carry cash anymore so no need for a clip, or even a wallet for that matter. When I used to carry cash I just folded the bills and shoved them in my pocket.
I’m 44 and I use a money clip. Simple, sterling clip that was a groomsmen gift 15 years ago. I also always carry cash. I’m more likely to leave home without my wallet than without cash. I have two cash rewards credit cards that I use, but I still like to carry and use cash, especially for smaller purchases.
The glove-box of my Jaguar is safe enough when the alarm is turned on.
What…?
I have a money clip, but haven’t used it in years.
I keep my cash in my wallet. Sure it bulges some, but it helps to balance out the other awesome bulge in my pants.
Money clips (most) aren’t good for lots of cash/many bills; usually 10-20 maybe depending on the design and how its made. Usually if I use one its to keep the higher denominations separate from the wad of ones and fives.
I use one of these:
Slim Clip wallet
It is about as small as can be and has plenty of capacity.
One side’s for currency, the other for cards.
I carry my DL, two credit cards and a couple business cards.
I’m 31 now and in 10+ years of using a money clip I’ve gotten nothing lots of compliments on it from my fellow young people. I get a lot of compliments from men and women, a little more often by women. They usually compare it favorably to some ugly lumpy wallet the size of a burrito that their boyfriend or husband won’t consider replacing.
I’ve never paid a whole lot of attention to what other men use, but money clips seem to actually skew toward younger men. There’s no reason to carry a giant bifold wallet anymore since we don’t carry much cash. A money clip is a sleek alternative to shoving a wadded up pile of cash in our pockets.
I don’t see how age has anything to do with it. It’s not like the OP asked how many people know how to use a buggy whip.
I’ve been using a money clip since I was 30, and I’m 48 now. They just make more sense to me than using a wallet.
