Who do you use for low cost web hosting?

We currently use a service called “Orbitation” that was run by serve.com that is shutting down.

We just basically have a small business information page. . .no online purchasing, low traffic, no mail , low storage requirements. We’re currently paying about $6.50 a month or so.

Any good suggestions?

Also. . .I think that I registered the domain name through the same provided, but isn’t domain name registration done separately from hosting?

Thanks

Best bang for the buck I have seen is Host Monster.

Whenever a thread like this pops up I have to chime in.

I use Netrillium Web hosting. For a small place like you’re describing, they have a 150 megabyte plan with 9 gigs of bandwidth for $3.50 a month. That’s right. Three dollars and fifty cents per month. Their yearly domain re-registration fee is $8.50. You can transfer your domain to them if you buy space or just leave it where you want and point it to the new servers. If you transfer it costs $8.50 but it’s the same as re-registering it.

I absolutely love them. Great prices, awesome customer service. If I call them I get instant help; if I e-mail them, I get a response within a day, even on weekends. I’ve been with them for years and no one could ever get me to go somewhere else.

I currently have a 900 megabyte plan, with 60 gigs of bandwidth, and three domains. I pay $9 a month. You also get unlimited subdomains, unlimited ftp accounts, unlimited e-mail addresses, and a really nifty Cpanel setup and something called Fantastico that installs some scripts for you. I absolutely love them.
