So we’ve decided on the “Gaming Club” website.
How has this been working? Own table? Scheduled tourneys?
We have a private tournament every Thursday at 10pm Eastern. Multi-table, usually 10-15 people show up.
Gonna join us next week? 
Site is confusing as hell (and ads freaking everywhere) but I think I might give it a try. Buyin 1+.10? Price is right.

The interface for the actual games is pretty good … and yeah, it’s wicked fast.
Yes, the buy-in is $1+0.10. I haven’t played any other games at that site: all of my other online play is at PokerRoom, and I’m in a live tourney every week. I think a few other folks (who might still be playing tonight’s tourney) have done some sit-n-gos at Gaming Club, though.

I really wish you’d find a Mac friendly site you all are happy with - that’s why I never participated in the PokerTropolis game

If you can find a Mac-friendly site that allows private, multi-table tournaments with a buy-in of $1 or less, let us know. I bet everyone would be willing to consider it.

Have you read this thread at all, especially the posts since PT went down last Thursday? We were playing $0.10+.50 games. The one we’re playing now is $1+.10, which is more expensive but a much better rake. $5+.50 is way too much (IMO) for our casual, friendly games – I know that I wouldn’t be willing to pay that much every week, even though I mentioned the PokerRoom tourneys well before you did. At that amount the decision of whether to play or not can start to be about the money, whereas our games are just about the poker and the camaraderie.
I remembered why I hadn’t signed up for Neteller way back when. It does not have Maryland on its list of states during the account-creation procedure. Because of the online banking/gambling/whatever law on the books in Maryland.
I might need somebody else to finance me again. I’ll send you a check.
You see how important I was to Pokertropolis? I don’t play for a few months and they fold up. Aholi I hope you get the $15 or so bucks that I had on account that you loaned me. I didn’t even get any notification about them going belly up.
Anyhow, I miss the heck out of you guys but I thought I’d give you an explanation as to why I’ve bailed out (plus I know you miss the dead money). So here goes: due to massive sleeping problems (sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, a waking up early version of insomnia, etc.), I’ve ordered myself to turn off the computer at 10 PM (eastern time of course…the only real time). It’s actually been a marked help in getting myself to sleep earlier. However, it prevents me from playing in the SDMB game. So it’s a question of priorities and sleep wins.
Wish me luck tonight as I get fitted for my CPAP machine after yet another sleep study. It’s taken me a long time to admit that I need the machine, but everybody tells me it’ll make my life so much better.
Sorry for the hijack, but as one of the “charter” SDMB Poker Tour (sponsored by MAB and ether) players, I thought y’all deserved an explanation.
I’m out for tomorrow, heading to Nashville for some drunken debauchery (well, we’ll probably drink a few beer) Thursday morning. I usually leave on Friday morning, but it’s such a drive (13hrs) that I’m taking an extra driving day.
And we do miss ya, Capn. Get that apnea straightened out and maybe you’ll be able to sleep good enough to stay up late again. Hope to see you rejoin the game if/when you feel up for it.
