When you do so you will be able to see the content within.

No, not really. Their skills are a really mixed bag over there. They have discussed me a few times before. Some of them seem to know more about me than I do. They can create lists from memory going back the better part of a decade. That would suggest that they are some type of competent intelligence task force but no. Every time they get rolling pretty well on something, they veer sharply off course and crash and burn. They can’t stay on topic to save their lives and all the threads end the same way. If you ever wondered what the cheerleaders in the special needs junior high locker room talk about when the doctor cuts them off from Ritalin, wonder no more.

I read it for about a year, but it got boring. The same topics kept coming up over and over again. “Oh, look! Here’s *another *thread that proves that people who post to the SDMB are all fat retards with poor hygiene and horrible social skills! Hahaha!” After a while I stopped bothering.

Long ago, it was a good place to catch up on gossip, or for links to threads worth reading which I may have missed. Nowadays it’s kind of “meh”.

Right. It used to be my Table of Contents to the SDMB when it was on deadjournal. No time to browse all the forums? check the snarkpit. Now that the thing is threaded it is just too obvious that there are only 2 or 3 topics that get redone over and over. Heck, I barely lurk here now that the kids are out of school and even I have spotted a couple of snarkable topics that they have missed over there. They are now purely self-referential.
The spirit of the place just didn’t survive the transplantation to S2. Sorry, mommy. I know you meant well.
ETA: And of course I only got here because I read about it over there. I still read the thread titles but I only find one worth opening about once or twice a month.
Sometimes, but it’s not as good as it used to be. Like others have said, it suffered from the switch over from dead journal. (Plus for some really stupid, unknown reason, it tripped my MacAfee when I’d go there. WTF was up with THAT?)
Nowadays it’s really only good when there are trainwrecks. It’s a shame, really.

The only clever thing I’ve seen so far was the person who registered TubaDiva’s name at some Aryan message board and posted a thread there that consisted mostly of their “Niggers Suck” smiley. I feel horrible for laughing, but it was so over-the-top that it gave me the giggles.
Everything else is just people who get a bit of a thrill from saying “cock.”
The one time I went on I was rather perversely proud to learn that some “nonny” or another had named me as the archetypical “angry retard.”
If I ever do the full price subscription, that’s going to show up right under my screenname.

The snarkpit would be just a pathetic but interesting phenomenon until you realize that most of the people that post there are real Dopers although some are banned ones. They know who they are and some may have even posted in this thread but I have no idea who. Queue the Twilight Zone theme music. I only posted there once in my own snark thread but I did pick up a real-life stalker from the place so that is always a bonus. Having someone trace your parents several thousand miles away and contacting them about something completely true and flattering to them is a little odd if I do say so myself especially when you are in mid-thirties.
Every time I read the snarkpit, I can’t help but superimposing it on This video clip.
That was the place which is like the SDMB’s twisted evil twin, right? I followed a link there once, read a few threads (mostly in a state of total bemusement), and left, never to return. Gaah I waste enough time here, I can’t imagine wasting more of it beyond the yellow brick road.
