I voted for Chik-Fil-A but I was tempted by Popeyes. It’s been so many years since I’ve eaten Popeye’s chicken though that I’m afraid that I may be building up its excellence in my mind… so I went with the superior nugget in my area.
Of this selection, Wendy’s. They actually have… y’know… meat texture. But my absolute, all time favorite fast food chicken is Rally’s boneless wings with garlic parmesan sauce. OMeffin’G those things are to DIE for. Literally. Deep fried strips of chicken swimming in garlic/parmesan butter? Yeah. I only allow myself to have them a couple times a year, but jimminy Christmas they are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
I don’t feel qualified to vote having never even seen a Chick-Fil-A in my life, and the last Popeyes around here turned into a Hooters over a decade ago (and since then changed into a rib joint) and I rarely ate there anyway, and not ever nuggets that I can recall.
But McD’s nuggets before they ruined them by “new and improving” them were the stuff of legends.
McDonald’s? Seriously? They don’t taste anything like chicken. They have the texture of overcooked fake eggs, which they also sell at McDonald’s. BK is the same way, only they put something on the coating that makes it somewhat tasty.
I’ve never had Popeye’s or Wendy’s nuggets so I pick Chik-fil-a.
Man, Can’t get enough of that MSG marinated, moist , plump and juicy, pressure fried, Chik-fila-golden nuggets/chunks. Don’ tell anyone, but I like them straight-up with the tabasco packets from Chik-fhil, don’t really care for their buffalo sauce. Actually better than most Chk’n chunk breast or tenders that i have had at indepedent Winghouses (they are actually trying to supplant wings at most of these houses with white meat breast to take the economy and pressure and cost off the limited wings market.)… but I also sometimes stop by the nearby McDonald’s for some old fashioned sweet and sour packets. Menage a McFila.
You know who does a really good Polynesianwing-sauce? Rally’s/Checker’s! Their sauce has lots of ginger and garlic. Not bad for fast food… well done, small to medium sized wings. Bare, crispy skin, deep fried wings. Just like the Anchor (Inn).
That was the reason I liked them. If I want chicken, I’ll get chicken, not chicken nuggets.
Also, their “fake eggs” are real–they just come prescrambled, and are made into an omelet. Overcooked may technically be right, but I think that’s better for breakfast sandwiches. I don’t know why they use the same consistency for their egg meals, as they seem to get it right for the burritos.
Why, yes, I eat McDonald’s breakfast a lot (at least, relative to other fast food). It’s the only place open early enough.
I only ate chicken nuggets as a kid, and when I was a kid McDonald’s and Dairy Queen were the only restaurants in town that had them. So I guess I’d vote for McDonald’s, but based on almost no evidence.
