Favorite fast foods poll

Forgive me if this has been done recently.

Last year, I gave up fast-food burgers completely (although in the past month I’ve fallen off the wagon at Whataburger once or twice: bad Kabong!). Prior to my self-imposed cutoff, I had a serious addiction for the classic Big Mac, although the simple pleasures of Mickey D’s double cheesburger have a lot of appeal as well. The salt and calories had to go, though, and I haven’t really missed that junk too bad.

In recent days, however, I’ve discovered something that I never thought I’d see from one of the corporate burgermeisters: a decent salad. Specifically, the Mandarin Chicken salad from Wendy’s. Not only is it delicious, I really enjoy the little kit of stuff they give you to dress it up: individual packets of noodles and almonds, and a pretty decent dressing.

I’ve gotta give props to Wendy’s for their baked potatoes as well; having my minimum daily requirement of spuds baked at least seems more healthy than having a large order of fries, even if that’s not really the case.

So, what else am I missing? Feel free to name your personal favorite fast food item here.

Ok so it’s not healthy, but after a solid night of drinking nothing that I have found on this earth tastes better than an ultimate cheeseburger from Jack In The Box. The grease just runs everywhere from that thing and as long as you can forgive the burger for the heart attack it will surely bring you in the years to come, you are in nirvana.

Of course eating it sober makes me want to puke.

Well, Wendy’s Chicken BLT Salad is great, too. Fast food salad it is not. It’ s great.

Heck, Wendy’s would be perfect if they had better fries.

In/Out fast food joints out West rule.

Soft tacos from Taco Bell.

Wendy’s #2 w/a coke.

Elgin Street Dine poutine, from Ottawa. I’ve got a friend driving down tomorrow and I seriously considered asking her to bring me some, and then forced myself to realize that it would be 5 hours old by the time it got here.

Poutine, for anyone who doesn’t know, is french fries, cheese, and gravy- although you can get Italian poutine with meat sauce and mozzerella, onion ring pountine, four-cheese poutine…

::drool. Faint::

I’m mostly a Wendy’s fan. They have the best fries, IMO. I like their grilled chicken sandwiches, plus their burgers are better than most places. Their Frosties are great, too.

Jack in the Box is also good because of the variety of food they offer. I also like Carls Jr. for this reason but their nearest location is out of the way for me so I don’t go there as often as I would if they were closer.

KFC is good, although sometimes it disagrees with my stomach afterwards.

Arby’s and Subway are good choices when I don’t want something that’s been fried.

Burger King is okay, although their quality seems to have declined in recent years. Add to this the fact I worked there for several years, this probably made eating their even less appealing.

I hardly set foot inside a McDonald’s anymore. I love McDonald’s as a kid but as I have gotten older the appeal has disappeared.

Double Whopper w/ cheese and Ketchup

KFC’s Crispy Strips

Wendy’s Classic Triple

Beef a Roo!

KFC’s Triple Zinger sandwich!

I had one last night…and it was almost worth the fact that the nimrods working there screwed up my order…twice…and I only noticed after I drove away.

Still, they’re pretty damn good.

I’m a little bit surprised to see how many people are mentioning Wendy’s. It’s my favorite too (where else can you get a cup of melted cheese), but the other chains seem so much more popular.

::blinkblink:: Athena, where are you from?

I’d have to go with hot dogs from Beef Villa (a local place) or the old Wendy’s Grilled Chicken Salad. With the low-fat Italian dressing. Yum.

Arby’s Onion Petals. They’re far from healthy, but sooooo good! I think they put something addictive in the Southwestern Sauce. I used to scorn Arby’s as the lowest place in the fast food chain, but now I get cravings for those onion petals. Been going to Arby’s a little bit too often.

ME

White Castle.

There can never be enough White Castle.

Burger King, esp their fries.

OTOH, my fiance loves Wendy’s fries. We’ve come to realize it’s a texture thing – he likes more mushy fries and I like 'em crisp.

My appreciation of Wendy’s fries depends solely on their age. Fresh from the fry cooker, they are mana from heaven. If they’ve been sitting longer than 10-15 minutes…yuck…

In-n-Out double double.

Unfortunately, only in SoCal so far as I know…

In NY area, I’ll add a vote for White Castle.

on a day-after-day basis I could eat the MacDonald’s #5 Two Cheeseburger Combo (make the chessburgers plain) with a Rootbeer. I love that. Yes, I know I am a freak for wanting them plain but I love how they taste… looooove it.

for a nice change I love Wendy’s Spicy Chicken combo. gotta have that at least once a month.

I love the red beans and rice side dish from Popeye’s.

Burger King’s Big King is my artery-clogging food of choice. And I actually liked the new-and-improved fries, there, too.

KFC mashed potatoes, and macaroni & cheese, are my mushy comfort foods.

And my all-time carbo-favorite is Rally’s fries.

Is Quisno’s in the running? Their sandwiches are toasted, which makes them better than Subway’s, IMO.
