Who haven't I pissed off this week?

Hey, I was entirely over getting scooped on American Woman.

Or so I thought.

:wally

Yeh, well, if he ever gets tired of someone’s argument and accuses that Doper of beating a dead horse…

Man, I hate it when people use that phrase! Can’t you all beat something else for a change?

And no, I don’t mean that, you buncha filthy-minded perverts.

Sheesh! With all the people Homebrew hasn’t pissed off in here, there’s not room to swing a cat!

Swing a cat? SWING A CAT?!?

You dare say that to the proud (if rather fur-plastered) custodian of seven cats???

Now I’m really pissed off.

Wow. Sorry. Guess I should just keep quiet 'till the last dog is hung.

:: Looks around ::

Nope, no dogs in this household.

Hang 'em high!

Oh, and by the way, the past tense for execution by noose is “hanged”, not “hung.” Please make a note of this.

:stuck_out_tongue:

OK, now I’m mad. One does not alter a perfectly good centuries old folk saying simply because it is grammatically incorrect.

Why you… you… you… I’ll get back to you on this one, OK?

:: judge dons black hood ::

And the defendant This Year’s Model shall be hanged by the neck until dead, and his remains cut down and hung from a lamppost in the central square, that all might see the fate awaiting such perverters of idiom."

:: bailiffs drag away screaming, wailing criminal ::

But he escapes! With a daring and audacious kung fu move hitherto unknown in these localities, he breaks away! With strong, athletic strides, he leaps to the back of a horse, and begins to urge it on, using the quills he had plucked from the tail of a fortuitously passing porcupine. Sadly, if they hadn’t nailed the horse’s hooves to the turf, it would have been pushing up the daisies. He was beating a dead horse.

May I ask what the point of this is? If you treated a poster unfairly, email them and apologize. If the apology needs to be public, then it should still address the offended party and what you did wrong.

This thread. I don’t get the point. Explain it to me.

It seems to be a thread where others can beat a dead horse.

Proving once again the adage, “Look before you leap,” This Year’s Model was foiled in his escape by his over-hasty selection of a getaway mount. Alas, he was too quick on the Trigger.

Fuck you, fairy. You’ve pissed off everybody else and ignored ME?

Well, the point is that if you had a disagreement with one person and it didn’t involve anyone else, you’d apologize to that one person. By email if it was personal, also in public if you had offended them publicly. (If you had any class, that is…) And if you felt that you had offended numerous persons, like say on a message board, you might feel that you should publicly apologize to them in a thread. Say, one like this. Instead of starting several threads to apologize to them seperately, you know? Since there is the server speed situation to consider.

And this is a problem for you because…?

Homebrew:

It’s not big deal, and it’s not necessary, but I think it’s great that it’s important enough for you to do this.

You’re a good man.

Via con huevos.

I work in customer service. You honestly think that you, essentially a bunch of pixels on a message board, are going to piss me off? Good luck with that.

Did I say it was important for me? I participate here for grins only. It doesn’t mean I don’t have opinions. I’m not sure what my opinion should be about this thread. Without making unkind assumptions, I wasn’t able to figure it out, so I posed a question.

Granted, there are lots of threads that I don’t get, and the vast majority get ignored, but I really thought it was unseemly how a poster got shat on yesterday for doing nothing more than being themselves. A link lead me here.

So I’ve answered your question. Is this all OK with you?

Sure!

 Alrighty then. I can get on with my soggy day.

Sure would be nice, though, if we didn’t begrudge people for just for just being themselves. Maybe I’m just sensitive, but it seems to be a trend. But that’s a grievance for another time.

Sounds to me like Homebrew has a good head on him…
