Me too. I was disappointed to see him contort himself into something he;s not during the election. Now I see him defending Obama and standing and applauding. All is forgiven.
Look, I’m still a Republican and not a Democrat. The party left me, not the other way around. I don’t agree with most of the means the Democrats want to follow. Sadly, their opposition is effing bugnuts. I’m patient. I’ll wait till someone wants to represent me again.
See, I don’t get this. If I were a sane Republican (like my mom, who is a social liberal / fiscal conservative type), I would be burning up the phone lines right now calling every Republican who even thought about representing me in Congress and begging them to bring sanity back to the party. The number of independents who voted for Obama after Palin joined the ticket is what pushed Obama over the edge. They have to understand that the crazies are NEVER going to vote D…so you have to play toward the middle. They’re going to have the fundie base no matter what. There’s no need to spend so much time pandering toward them.
Tried. They weren’t listening. So, I’m waitin. Hoping they burn out and fail big-time quickly. Sooner it all goes to hell for them, the sooner we get some sanity back.
As a resident of SC, I’m sure he’s right…to an extent. I’m just not sure one can say how significant a role it played. There is some precedent to say it played a role in Wilson’s case, however.
