Who here thinks Speaks has REALLY figured it out?

Well… before I start the actual thread, I’ll just make a few comments on the new board style. I like the easier to use format… but I think the aqua Big Grin was cuter than new one, and I often found in fun to try and figure out what combination made what smiley, but it seems that’s been taken away :(.

Now, to the real point. I believe I have created a realistic, believable, and supportable hypothesis as to why the girl I like (Jane, to most of you) treats me the way she does and why her treatment of me varies from online to real life.

Basically I’ve seen that she’s more free and herself online, since nobody there really knows her… as my friend put it, when you’re online you’re just a name followed by some characters. Well, I’ve also noticed she’s decidedly more… nasty to me when she’s online, and she has no qualms about telling me what I’m doing wrong. In real life, she’s mostly sweet, but some of her “Online Self” leaks out every now and then.

So, it seems obvious to me that she really doesn’t like me much at all, but since I like her and I’m friends with some of her friends, she has to be nice to me in real life to keep up appearances more than because she likes me or respects me.

Does this seem reasonable? Nothing she’s done has really gone against it, and I treat some people poorly online because they bug me sometimes, so it’s not like it’d be a unique way to act…
