Who in America is actually happy about the Trump/politics situation today?

In that case the regime causing the problem is far more qualified to stop the attacks than any outside power.
Of course they would do it in a completely brutal matter because they are dictatorial bastards.
Dictatorial bastards whose whole ideology has just been vindicated in their eyes and in the eyes of many Iranians by an illegal bombing campaign that killed thousands, including more than a hundred schoolgirls.
Perhaps this whole “sanction and bomb” strategy does not work?.

Any suggestions?

Not making things worse is always a good start.

Ignoring it makes it worse. Any solutions to this problem?

@Sitnam & @Frodo it appears you forgot which thread this is, maybe find the appropriate iran-strikes-2026 for it instead. But stop with it here.

Stick to the OP, Who is actually happy with Trump.

Never mind.

Current polls show trump with 54% unfavorable and 42% favorable, so quite a few people are still liking trump. However, only 37% approve of his handing of Iran, with 44% strongly disapprove.

Can’t vouch for that reason of Southwestern NJ. But I think that sort of willfully ignorant provincial attitude is pretty common in a lot of small towns everywhere.

Honestly it’s a very strange mindset to me. It’s as if their brain can’t comprehend a world or situation outside of the very narrow one they’ve been acclimated to. It’s literally a mental prison.

When I overhear their conversations, a lot of them are some variation of “so and so did this transgression against the status quo, well here is there comeuppance.”

Supplemental to polling data, there’s some evidence that a lot of air was taken out of the MAGA sails in early to mid 2025, when Trump publicly commenced his Epstein coverup. You can see this commercially in my rawstory link upthread, but also in reporting by @CalMeacham last summer in the Pit.

You can dig deeper into the polling by looking at those who strongly approve of Trump vs those who weakly approve of him. Honestly I care a lot less about the feelings of Trump supporters than their actions, though I acknowledge the legitimacy of the OP’s question. Anyway Nate Silver posts the trendlines of those with strong approval of the Trump admin, which implies to me either happiness and joy or Stockholm Syndrome level commitment to the personality cult. By way of perspective, Nate Silver’s algorithm gives stronger support for Trump than that of Elliot Morris and I know of no current way of comparing their relative quality.

Anyway, Nate puts Trumps trendline approval at 39.5% - a new low - vs 37.5% by Morris. Nate’s trendline strong approval is at 24.0%. So a quarter of the country is feeling the love. Chart:

Strong approval declined in March, then had an uptick in early April. It’s too early to measure the effects of TACO Tuesday. Trendline approval shows the same weird uptick in Morris’ data, but not in Nate’s.

On Tuesday, when everyone was waiting to see what Trump meant by “ending a civilization” voters in Georgia’s 14th Congressional district went to the polls in a special election to fill the seat vacated by Marjorie Taylor Greene. Clayton Fuller, a proud MAGA who had been endorsed by Trump, got 56% of the vote.

Sure, that’s less than Republicans had gotten in the last several elections, but getting 56% on the very day most of us were afraid Trump was going to set off Armageddon suggests to me that a sizable number of the MAGA crowd are happy enough with how things are going.

Most of us? Hardly. Slightly more likely that trump being a lizardman, but not into the realm of probability.

No, a great many people thought he was threatening a nuclear attack. He’s a known fan of using nuclear weapons, and has been repeatedly barely convinced not to use them.

Who? Anyone important?

Political leaders worldwide.
