Who in the Trump inner circle will be the first to jump ship/be fired?

Yeah, although I think Trump prefers it that way. It’s one thing to have her at Trump’s side for the cameras, but he sure as Hell doesn’t want her off doing her own thing in the public eye. Her minders can’t keep her on script all the time.

I think he’s already doing the best he can. You couldn’t ask for a tougher assignment as a White House spokesman, being Trump’s spokesman. You don’t even know what Trump will say or do day to day, or Trump’s rationale behind decisions, and what Trump might do or say that you’ll have a hard time defending, and the media is baying for blood.

Melissa McCarthy did a great impersonation of Sean Spicer on SNL this weekend:

Could it spell trouble for Spicer?

White House rattled by McCarthy’s spoof of Spicer
“Trump ‘doesn’t like his people to look weak,’ a top Trump donor said.”

Priebus is the only “traditional” Republican in the group, and hence he will be the first to either be unable to stomach it any longer or get crossways with Trump.

About the only thing Spicer can do is a variation of “He said it. I believe it. And that settles it.”

That seems to sell pretty well with the 40-something percent of America who think this whole fiasco is a good idea. As to the rest, why should Spicer care?

The hard part about being a spokesperson is remembering that you’re not there to answer the media’s questions. You’re there to push your version of your story; the questions are just interruptions between you getting back on your script. Not their script.

And yes, sometimes that does take near superhuman (or psychopathic) levels of self-control. Which Spicer may or may not be up to.

I’ve been hearing for a year and a half about how Republicans are going to abandon Trump, and they keep not abandoning him. Priebus is the #1 “Let’s Support Trump” guy in the party.

His wife !

Between what’s been previously posted and the hit he’s taking over the SNL sketch, it’s time for Spicer to start looking for a new job.

Trump is volatile and illogical. He likes to fire people to show he’s in charge.

Keep doing that long enough and we may see a truly amazing sight:

What if they gave an administration and nobody came?

*The CNN report saying Trump was unhappy with Spicer said the president blames Priebus for pushing for Spicer for the job.

“Priebus vouched for Spicer and against Trump’s instincts,” a source told CNN.

The president “regrets it every day and blames Priebus,” the source added.*

and of course, just above that in the article;

*Numerous stories, apparently leaked by various people working at the White House, have circulated in the last few weeks, prompting speculation about feuding in the new administration.
Many of the stories have suggested tensions between White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and staffers loyal to him, and people in the general orbit of White House adviser Steve Bannon. *

It’s not that hard to be #1 out of a crowd of 1.

So much for hiring only the best people.

That Spicer is losing support because he was impersonated by Melissa McCarthy reminds me of how some leading Republicans lost support for their Presidential campaigns for being seen as cozying up to Obama. (Chris Christie, for one, who hugged Obama after Superstorm Sandy.) So at the time, I had this crazy idea that Obama should travel the country to hug, or at least touch, all of the leading Republicans so the Obama cooties would damage their campaigns.

Similarly, I think SNL and others should mercilessly impersonate Trump’s entire inner circle so as to weaken their standing with Trump.

I agree, with the caveat that every damned impersonator should be a woman. If we can get good comic muslim or Mexican women doing it, even better.

Except they should get some Dolph Lundgren type of guy type to play Ivanka.

I’d like to change my vote to Spicer. He’s bound to anger Bannon at some point for being ineffective and then Trump will fire him on Bannon’s says so.

Well, Rosie O’Donnell has said she’s up for playing Bannon on SNL if they are:

I think it’s interesting to note that they’ve at least managed to pour him into a suitrecently.

My pick is Kellyanne Conway, but if Trump fires her instead of the she wants more room to explore her future … it could cause a blood bath in the aftermath.

But still don’t people like her have staff people to see the same mistakes over and over?

Because that’s what the 80s power-dressing style mavens said were the thing to wear. And Trump loved the 80s.

I’m only half joking.

[del]Spicer. Not a poll choice.[/del]Missed it because of the cute nicknames quoted in.

Trump will sacrifice him because SNL made fun of him.
