Sean Spicer Resigns as White House Press Secretary, New York Times, July 21, 2017.
One asshole down. Next asshole up.
Will any lesson be learned by other Republicans that your loyalty will not be rewarded?
I’m bettin’ that of all of Trump’s people, Spicer comes out in the best light. He’s got a sense of humor – even a charm – and he got out early. He did the President’s dirty work, but at the same time, just a little part of him straddled the fence of being Trump’s guy while recognizing the lunacy of it all.
And who’s not going to want read his book?
And it’s been just six months to the date of the most bizarre presidential press conferences ever where Spicer ranted about the inauguration crowds and refused to answer questions from the media.
I feel bad for Melissa Mccarthy.
Her days are numbered, too.
On the plus side, Aidy Brant can do Sarah Sanders. (I won’t use her “hey look at me I’m the child of someone famous” middle name)
Trump can’t fire Ms McCarthy, only Alex Baldwin can do that.
I really hope she does a Spicer resigning skit. I mean she kind of has to doesn’t she???
Please please please!
You could tell how uncomfortable the last asshole was in playing Trump’s Director of Communications. The next asshole is far worse in that he seems like he’s actually going to enjoy the shit that comes out of him.
Looking forward to his NYT interview! ! !
Spicey had an impossible job, explaining the unexplainable for a boss who undercut him at every opportunity, and did it just about as badly as could be expected. I almost feel sorry for him.
Maybe Spicer can go on SNL and play himself, now.
It seems the Fox “News” takeover of the White House is now nearly complete.
Buddy Trump has got your back.
Loyalty, like virtue, is its own reward. Or at any rate, its as much as your likely to get.
I would love that. Have McCartney start off and then have Spicer come in and say “Excuse me. I got this.” (or something I’m not a comedy writer).
Oh man that would be great.
My money’s Priebus. Apparently, he and Scaramouch, Scaramouch, will you do the fandango* don’t get a long too well.
*sorry, couldn’t help it.
Spicer will go on TV to pledge fealty to the man who destroyed his reputation. He’s not gonna do a tell-all book, appear on SNL, etc.
Not until Inauguration Day.
LOL Sanders is reading a statement right now paying tribute to Spicer, how Trump appreciates his service and Spicey got, and I quote, '“great ratings.” You can’t make this stuff up.
