Who is favored in the Walker/Warnock runoff for the Georgia Senate seat? (Updated: Warnock wins)

Maybe the closest is “Guam can tip over” and “imagine a world without balloons” Hank Johnson in the House.

But he’s not dangerously bad, just amusingly so.

For one strange moment 12 years ago, Democrats had Alvin Greene. Still not entirely sure how that happened.

Seriously, though, I gotta vote for the one who’s going to make people’s lives better rather than worse. The answer to “which one is that?” isn’t even controversial.

One small difference:

At multiple points during the campaign, the South Carolina Democratic Party called for Greene to withdraw his candidacy.

I thought of a potential equivalent: Gweneth Paltrow. I imagine her politics are vaguely liberal, but she’s batshit insane. She hurts people pushing woo on them. She’d be an absolute disaster as an elected official.

But if she was running against say, Liz Chaney, who is principled and honest and competent. I’d vote for Paltrow all the way. Because she would probably mostly do as she was told, and she wouldn’t actively work against my own political goals.

You’re more generous than I. On my ballot were two minor offices where a Republican ran unopposed, Mine Inspector for one and something I forget – Constable, maybe – for the other. I undervoted them.

Eh, not sure how that’s a big deal… I never bother voting in any unopposed race, no matter which side it is. I mean, maybe if it were someone I knew personally, a friend or family member or something, but otherwise, why would I?

Neither do I unless, as you said, it’s someone I know or really, really like.

The closest examples I can recall of similar buffoonery and corruption on the Democratic side were the LaRouchies who infiltrated the Illinois party (firmly opposed by the Democratic party leadership when they realized what was going on), Jim Traficant (expelled from the House by a nearly unanimous bipartisan vote), and Gary Condit* (defeated in the next primary).

*Small-World Note: Condit was the one vote against the expulsion of Traficant.

Walker is devastated that he didn’t get 100% of the votes in his home county.

He is reported to have said that he’s going to have the sheriff find out who didn’t vote for him.

Probably Georgia Tech fans.

Can’t Walker just go house-to-house, flash his badge, and make everyone tell him who they voted for?

What a total buffoon. Jeez.
