In the movie Come On, Get Happy, the story of “The Partridge Family” from Bonaduce’s point of view, there’s a chat between (actors playing) Bonaduce and Dave Madden. It goes something like this:
Madden: Danny, you know why we were hired for this job?
Bonaduce: Yeah, because we’re funny.
Madden: No, it’s because we look funny. Look at the rest of the family, and then look at us.
As an aside, from what I gather (for good or bad), Bonaduce really thought the world of Dave Madden in real life.
