There’s a famous photo by Joseph Louw of people standing over MLK pointing in the possible direction of a shooter on the balcony of the Lorraine Hotel. Who are the people? I think one is Andrew Young (in tan jacket), one apears to be a young woman in a short dress and white socks, and a man who’s face is blocked by the woman. There might be another person also blocked, but not pointing; and one person with a towel to MLK’s head.
Those four are, Andrew Young, Jesse Jackson, James Bevel, and Samuel “Billy” Kyles.
It’s a place to start, anyway.
EDIT: Here’s a larger photo.
.
Here’s an account of the assassination, giving the names of people who were present.
From the account and this closeup, the kneeling man is apparently Ralph Abernathy.
Thanks (and sorry for forgetting to include the link). I’m aware of who was there (althougth the young woman in the photo is never mentioned), but I’m wondering who is who in the picture. Thanks.
