Who is Melania Trump's graffiti jacket aimed at? "I really don't care. Do U"

Let’s call that what it is: lying. THAT’S what he excels at.

The further you get away from Trump’s original business locations, the more he might have resembled a successful businessman. People in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Connecticut all had seen his flops, failures and mistakes up close and knew his reputation was as a blowhard.

Out West, you might form a different opinion without being able to see all the things with Trump’s name on them decay and fail.

I’m sure that’s true. I’m in Colorado and have never seen anything ‘Trump’ as far as I know. Never seen as much as a minute of The Apprentice. Sounded like a stupid premise and just a way to get his ego stroked.

I never thought highly of Trump. Knew he was a blowhard, and probably a big asshole. Now I know for sure. He also gave me the creeps and seemed like a shady business man. Now I now for sure. I had no idea of the depth and breadth of his crimes and con jobs.

The turn around he would have to do to become a decent President or person seems humanly impossible. It looks like he will go down as the very, very worst president to date. And that is what he will be known for.

Trumps final epitaph: “I Never Conned Anyone That Did Not Want To Be Conned.”

A certain subset of people really want to believe what they want to believe despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Trump knows how to read these people. Likely learned it from his father.

He has stated plainly on multiple occasions that he openly lies, yet that subset of people don’t want to believe that he is lying to THEM. (“I may be wrong, I mean I may stand before you in six months and say, ‘Hey I was wrong.’ I don’t know that I’ll ever admit that, but I’ll find some kind of an excuse.")

He will continue to lie, and then call his lies fake news the next day, and his base will not care because they want to believe his lies.

So Trump is simply a manifestation of a group of Americans that willingly and openly desire to be conned. He is doing nothing more than giving them what they want.

Maybe she’s illiterate.

You didn’t need to know anything about Trump before 2016 besides his bloviating birtherism to know that his “legacy” was not only cemented, but swimming with the fishes.

Its a coded message. “Today, I kill moose and squirrel!”.

Always the squirrel. Everyone blames the squirrel. No one ever says, “Man, that moose has it coming.” Nope, we’re just trying to figure out how many pellets it’ll take before that SQUIRREL never comes back.
Trump’s legacy, for me, was the Birtherism and Central Park Five. I can’t stand reality shows anyway, so “Apprentice” was never on my list. His little pointy jab always seemed like he was asking for a broken index finger. “You’re fired!”? Who actually says that in a sit down meeting?

Lots of opinions but no real debate.

Off to IMHO.

It’s probably worth mentioning she didn’t visit the actual detention center but rather Children at a nearby church.

I agree with this a thousand percent.

My first thought was that the jacket was aimed at Trump. That she was dragged out to perform this photo op in Texas because the WH realized they lost the PR war on this issue. This feeling was mostly based on her recent three week non-appearance (and how badly that was handled) which made it seem like she’s run out of f*cks. And the idea that the jacket was borrowed from a sympathetic staffer because how else would a last season, short run, cheap jacket turn up on her back? Admittedly the “sympathetic staffer” is a stretch because that person would immediately be sussed out and fired but it is supported by the conflicting statements (“it didn’t mean anything” vs “it’s a slam against the press”)
The trolling aspect. First of all, I don’t think Nielsen was trolling when she went to that Mexican restaurant. She’s worked in previous administrations which benefited from the “oppose each other at work but dine together at the end of the day” chumminess that has always been the undercurrent in DC. What is different this time is not that the protesters came into the restaurant, it’s that they were allowed to stay. That is significant.
So I don’t know why Melania wore that jacket. I do have an opinion about her pre-nup. People always say that she hasn’t asked for a divorce because of the pre-nup. I’m not a divorce lawyer but my understanding is that pre-nups can expire after a certain number of years and that they can be thrown out by judges. Plus we know that Trump skimps on hiring the best, so it’s likely that the agreement isn’t ironclad. It’s also possible there’s another, new agreement that she gets a shitton more money if she stays for the duration. I dunno, at a certain point, you have to ask yourself, how much money do you need? As long as the kid is a minor, she’d get more than enough, public scrutiny on Trump would ensure that. He’s very sensitive to the appearance of not having as much money as he’s claimed. He was able to do it with his previous wives but now he’d have lawyers like Avenatti (sp?) jumping in. (I know he’s not a divorce lawyer but I’ll bet he knows some sharks). If she wants out, she needs to do it before Mueller’s money-laundering evidence comes to light and all the accounts are frozen.

Her wearing of the Reallydon’tcare jacket was peculiar at best; it might just be the worst wardrobe malfunction since Janet Jackson. News-people said it was the first time she’d ever been seen in a garment with a message on it, and it was surely the least expensive thing she’s worn in decades.

The really strange part of the warehousing of refugee children was seeing them bundled up in those foil thermal blankets. They looked like potatoes ready for baking.

Stephen Miller probably doesn’t realize “A Modest Proposal” is satire.

This is a woman of generally less than admirable attributes in a dysfunctional marriage who is being constantly humiliated by the very public airing of her husband’s … indiscretions. And then there’s the airing of his sex with a porn star too. She may be no fool but she is no genius either. She signed on for one job, arm candy of an aging very rich old White guy, but not for the life she currently has. And then some health issue hits her.

Becoming sad, apathetic, and distracted? Not too shocking for someone whose adult life has never been about caring about the good of others and who we have no reason to believe has the spine to just walk out, no matter how bad it gets.

I think the jacket was aimed at the world, all of it, and was just expressing her current state of mind about everything, apathy as a defense mechanism, like posting a mood status on Facebook when someone has no real friends or lover to share with or talk to.

It’s a shame we can’t get an interview with one of these kids asking them about their first impressions of America. I bet they think we all sleep with space blankets.

Speaking of which, aren’t you not supposed to let little kids play with/in plastic bags?

On NPR news tonight, they interviewed a Border Patrol guy. He explained the foil space blankets. He said many of these refugees families traveled hundreds of miles through the whole length of Mexico to get here, often through primitive places. It’s fair to expect some of them to have ticks, fleas, lice, and scabies, so it would be impractical to give them wool blankets before they get cleaned up.

This should be repeated. So, I’m quoting it.

This whole administration is such a shit storm that I guess the media has kinda missed it. I have been busy. Perhaps this has made a headline or two? I hope so.

They are potentially infested eh?

Sorry. Too soon.

I read that in several places in the mainstream media. It wasn’t covered up or ignored.
