As for women, the choices are far to vast and change constantly.
One of the ones that would lead is Grace Park, another Emelia Fox, who has the most amazing eyes I have ever seen.
Then there are all the others mentioned previously.
An impossible choice.
Male: David Tennant, hands down. Runner-up: Robert Downey Jr.
Female: Hrm, dunno. Maybe Emma Watson.
Women: Kerry Washington, Nicole Beharie, Meagan Good, and the gorgeous Angela Bassett. They make me want to step my hair/style/life game up. I should probably add Lupita Nyong’o. She is stunning.
Men: Jesse Williams. He’s even hotter now that he’s a dad (his wife seems lovely). Honorable mention to Columbus Short. I hope there are more shirtless scenes of Harrison on Scandal when it returns. Goodness Shonda is doing some inspired work with those two men. I never liked Private Practice but I would watch for Taye Diggs. Shonda has my trust.
Oh and Justin Timberlake. I went to a BSB elementary school, so you couldn’t really like NSYNC at all. But when he went solo with Justified in middle school, I never looked back. I will follow his okay acting and subpar albums for as long as I possibly can.
It’s a real toughie for most guys because we don’t see it. It’s why so many don’t think of themselves as attractive, or know how to make themselves more so. It’s sort of like color-blindness - in the test, you miss the number if you focus too much on one color.
When we look for “attractive” we focus on elements most men don’t have. The male celebs that a lot of women think are attractive seem effeminate to me (Beiber, Styles) because their feminine elements are what register. More masculine icons or older ones like Jackman or Clooney - I just see guys. Guy with decent haircuts and clothes, guys maybe a bit leaner than average, often guys with silly affectations (yeah Pitt and Reeves) but not exceptional from the ones I pass on the street.
Unlike what I think about Nina Dobrev or Jessica Alba, who seem gifted with looks, I see other guys as having decent trainers and image consultants. And that’s a blind spot, as often those same things would put women I pass on the street up there with Dobrev and Alba.
My solution when I posted was a private joke - the actor looks almost exactly like me, according to female friends and family when we saw him on 24 in its final season.

I agree. I mean, there are younger, more shapely “hotter” babes out there, but she is is just downright beautiful. Others I would put in that category are Hale Berry (especially as she’s gotten a bit older) and Charlize Theron. In the “hot babe” category, it’s hard to beat the likes of Megan Fox or Kate Upton.
Guys? Lots of male actors that seem to turn women on look like little boys to me, but I can see why Jon Hamm, Hugh Jackman, or George Clooney are up there. I think the best way for us straight guys to address this is: who would you like to look like if you had the opportunity? I wouldn’t want to look like Brad Pit or Leonardo DiCaprio. Or Johnny Depp.

Emma Watson - damn, she’s grown into a stunningly beautiful woman.
Minka Kelly - she reminds me of the hottest woman I’ve ever known in real life.
Yvonne Strahovski - gorgeous, Aussie, and every nerdboy’s dream on Chuck.
And an actress who might not be considered quite as beautiful as those above, and yet I find her incredibly, unreasonably attractive is Emily Mortimer. Soooo sexy. I think her voice is half the reason.
And finally, despite her overexposure in tabloids and penchant for acting poorly in terrible movies, Jennifer Lopez is still amazingly hot.
This hair is beautiful, and she is beautiful, but her hair is not blond. It is light brown.

The choice was blonde or brunette, so I wasn’t going to get into semantics about the shade. If I had decided to challenge the definition, I would have gone with the more accurate ‘honey-blonde’, but it didn’t seem like an issue.
Either way, a beautiful woman… Just not as a dark-haired brunette.
