Don LaFontaine died in 2008, but I swear I heard his voice in a recent trailer. It had to be an impersonator trying for LaFontaine’s voice. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard Miguel Ferrer on numerous trailers. Peter Coyote and Mike Rowe do a lot of voice over work as well. Maybe they should start doing trailers.
There are a number of voice guys who can do a LaFontaine-esque voice for movie trailers. One of the most prominent is Hal Douglas, who does a great spoof on Don’s “In a world” schtick in the trailer for Comedian (The documentary about Jerry Seinfeld).
Another one is Al Chalk.
Sorry for the tiny hijack, but I wonder if anyone here has ever heard a movie trailer narrated by a woman?
Does the sequel to Sex and the City count?
Richard Thomas (John Boy Walton) does the Mercedes commercials.
