Who microwaved our brains?

From a thread in another forum:

Not intended as a flame on the OP, but I think this gadget is just another example of brainless technology worship. Why do we need a microwave egg fryer when it takes about 2 minutes to do it in a pan on the stove? Using the microwave is no faster and a lot putzier, and I bet the results aren’t as good – as is true with a lot of microwave recipes.

Who else thinks this is stupid?

explanation, not a defense.
yea, microwaving doesn’t taste the same. advantages over pan frying:
the microwave thing is very much smaller than the pan, which means less space in the dirty dish department (a big plus in my eyes),
you don’t need to use any butter/grease whatever (yea, I know spray with Pam or use non stick)
frying an egg you have to hover over it. microwave, I can go wake the kid up while it’s in there.

might not be advantages to some folks but might be to others.

These actually look very cool is they produce edible results. From cracking to eating is a matter of minutes, and I can just throw the thing in the wash. With normal eggs, I have to heat up the stove, cook, eat, and clean the frying pan by hand, which can take 30 minutes when one is as bad of a cook as I am.

I used to make scrambled egs in the microwave all the time, and they weren’t any worse than eggs I’ve burnt by hand. maybe a little dry till I stared adding a bit more milk.

Umm…look, this is just a little plastic ball to enclose an egg while it microwaves. Put it in a plastic cup, or just about anything else and save whatever they want to charge for it.
You don’t need a pan and you don’t need this gaget either.

Actually, microwaved scrambled eggs are much fluffier, and with much less grease.
