Who pays the bills in your home?

Me.
It’s only me in my household,
if you don’t count my dog.

When I first moved in with my boyfriend, the waythey knew it was time to pay the electricity bill as when all the lights went out. I pay the bills now, but I keep him updated on what I am doing and why. We discuss any purchase over about $40, although neither of us is going to be in trouble if we maek the occasional impulse purchase over that limit.

Now for the funny story: my mother has her CPA and is and upper level managaer at a good-sized company–she literaly managages tens of millions of dollars. My father does the household book keeping. It is not because of latent patriarchial leanings–he is basically a house hunsbvand these days and loves that she makes more money than him. It is because my mother is too damn sloppy with her personal finanaces! It is an extreme case of work persona/home persona conflict. On the other hand, I am pretty confident that Mom could figure it out, if she had to.
