Who raises the most in the the 3rd Quarter (D)

Poll coming. Make your guess about who raises the most money among the Democratic candidates in 3rd quarter fundraising. I left off some of the minor candidates. I was debating to include Klobuchar, but she’s barely registering in the polls and wanted to include an ‘other’ option.

They’re in alphabetical order.

Is it cheating if I donate to Warren after picking her?

Nope, because I’m not done donating to Mayor Pete. I should have closed the poll at the end of the 3rd quarter. I would ask that people respectively don’t vote in the poll after the end of the third quarter but please feel free to comment once we start seeing the numbers come in.

I think it’ll come down to Buttigieg versus Warren. Warren has really picked up steam, but I voted Buttigieg.

Do we have any preliminary Q3 numbers, or are we basing our guesses on popularity and their Q2 take?

Also, unless Biden’s fundraising has demonstrably done poorly, he’s got a good shot at being the #1 fundraiser, by hitting up all those rich dudes for money.

Was just thinking that there’s a couple reasons we’re getting bombarded with Q3 fundraising emails and texts. The money raised now can be used for field offices and the ground game now in the early states. The end of Q4 comes around the holidays when people are tapped out for Christmas and money raised then isn’t as helpful for Iowa and New Hampshire. I must be getting a fundraising email every 5 minutes.

Biden’s team has already made it known that he raised 30 million in the 3rd quarter.

So far we’ve got Bernie with $25.3M and Buttigieg with $19.1M.
ETA: And thank goodness, we now get a break from all those end-of-quarter, help-us-reach-our-target fundraising emails.

I have to admit I was surprised at how well Bernie did. Perhaps it’s all those college kids returning to campus in Q3. I wish Pete had done better, but 51 million so far this year is still amazing for someone who started off on January 23 with zero name recognition. And, Pete will probably outraise Harris, Klobuchar, and Booker, 3 sitting Senators who entered the race with the Kavanaugh hearings still fresh in everyone’s mind.

25 million honestly isn’t a lot when you consider that he has a million individual donors.

Yes, and this may be peak Bernie. I don’t know how much was raised early in the quarter before Bernie started losing ground to Warren and maybe some to Yang. But he did start out with the email list that he won’t share whereas Pete started with nothing. I was in Washington DC on January 23 and there was no buzz about Pete except a little bit about him being the first openly LGBT candidate from a major party. His announcement was overshadowed by the government shutdown.

FYI, there’s been some confusion over Kamala Harris’ fundraising totals that were just released. Let’s wait for them to get a correct total.

I think Bernie raised $200 million in the 2016 primary. So I don’t know about peak Bernie. He may have a good 4th quarter too.

I don’t know, Bernie has definitely lost some support to Warren and I don’t think his angry finger waggling approach is the right one for this election cycle. I’m eager for the next debate, and as much as it sucks, I don’t want up to 12 candidates on the stage.

  1. Fuck you, Bernie for your endless conspiracy theories about the DNC forcing them to bend over backwards to accommodate every long shot.

  2. Fuck you, Tom Steyer for your damn vanity campaign. You realize a lot of your ‘donations’ came from Republican ratfuckers who tossed you a couple dollars to get you into the debate so the Dems can’t thin the herd.

It’s 11 million for Kamala Harris. Not great for a sitting senator from California.

Apparently they’ve issued a correction: $15.2M for Biden.

So far:

Sanders $25.3M
Buttigieg $19.1M
Biden $15.2M
Harris $11.6M
Yang $10M
Booker $6.0M

Still nothing from Warren, AFAICT.

So far:

Sanders $25.3M
Warren $24.6M
Buttigieg $19.1M
Biden $15.2M
Harris $11.6M
Yang $10M
Booker $6.0M

Well, that was sure bad information. Sorry for promulgating misinformation.

Not your bad: I’d have believed them too - why would they lie about it?

Especially because now that $15M hits with that much more of a thud. Fourth, behind Buttigieg and way behind Sanders and Warren. Damn, he can’t even get the money men to rally behind him.

Meanwhile, the two candidates who aren’t taking PAC money and aren’t doing fundraisers with rich people are raising more money than everyone else. I find that quite gratifying.
