Who’s been vaccinated?

Except for substituting “Broward” this is pretty much me.

It’s now been 18 hours since my first Moderna yesterday afternoon. No arm soreness, no stiffness, no swelling, no other effects at all. I can tell I got poked there, but no different than if I’d nicked myself shaving or bumped into a doorknob.

So far so good; here’s hoping it works.

22 hours since my J&J shot, and that was a rough night. Chills and fatigue set in about 7 hours after the shot, and by 11pm I had full blown chills, fever and aches. Today I’m extremely fatigued, achy and have chills. I had COVID in March 2020, so I was wondering how this would go. I’m happy to suffer for a day or two, though, for the end result!

FWIW, the folks at the vaccine site said most people aren’t having much of a reaction to this shot at all. I do think it’s the COVID history that’s making my reaction a bit sportier.

Had my first jab on Monday. Had to do a bit of legwork (internet legwork) to find a place, but found one only a half hour drive away at a Walgreens.

Pretty straightforward. Had a bit of tenderness at the injection site, hurt a bit to lift my arm over my head, but that was pretty much gone by evening.

I may have had a slight fever, but didn’t get around to checking my temp. It was pretty minor if there was. I did feel pretty tired, and went to be about an hour earlier than normal and slept pretty deeply.

No noticable effects the next day.

I hear everyone say that the second shot is generally worse. My parents were pretty down the next day. I’ll see when I get it in a couple weeks.

First Pfizer shot yesterday morning; a little soreness around the injection site by bed time, about the same today, no other side effects. It was a county health department run operation, and total time from driving into the lot to driving out was about 40 minutes.

Congrats!! You made it, despite everything.

Kudos to you big time for getting through that. And to your 8yo for the social awareness and empathy. Such kindness sharing the kangaroo!

The wife took her first Pfizer shot on Thursday. Second one will be on April 15. No side effects other than a slight soreness at the injection site on her arm for the rest of the day.

Spoke to soon. Spend one day with fever and one day with a low grade temperature. Apart from sore arm am fine today. From what I get from friends, it’s about the standard AZ deal, though it ranges from nothing at all to a hearsay of 40 degrees fever - hope!

Spoke too soon. I spent most of Friday feeling wiped out and had little appetite. After I went to bed and had a good night’s sleep, I felt perfectly fine the next day.

And now 24 hours after the above report still nothing. No swelling, no bruising, no stiffness at the injection site and no systemic issues either. Feel normal in all respects. Yaay!

Wife got her first shot on Friday and has had a much stronger reaction than I did. Had a hard time moving her arm yesterday from soreness, fatigue, some nausea. Not much better today. :-/

Poor thing! Give her a hug from an internet stranger

Got my second Pfizer shot on Friday. No side effects for the first shot except a stiff arm. Same this time (so far). It’s been 48 hrs. so I’m probably safe. My parents had both shots by over a month ago with no side effects.

My job was able to get me in when they opened up for K-12 educators. I started teaching in-person last week so the timing was perfect. I’m technically not a K-12 teacher but I have high school kids in my class so HR put me on the list. Texas opened up vaccinations to 50 and over the very next week so I would have been eligible anyway. My husband got his first shot two weeks ago. Not even a sore arm.

Get this. TX has already opened to everyone, so my daughter was able to get a slot this Monday.

Christ almighty. Is that a normal thing for you? How do you get through a blood test?

Yeah, my phobia is pretty freakin intense. How do I get through blood tests? As rarely as possible, and much the same way as I got through this shot.

Got my first Pfizer dose on Friday evening, with follow-up scheduled, thanks to my local state representative working with a local NAACP group to have a clinic. Weirdly, I’d barely signed up for the clinic when I finally got contacted by the County for their vaccine program. I wonder if there’s a way to tell them I don’t need the vaccine through them anymore? I’m assuming if I don’t sign up for it, they’ll eventually pass on by.

My wife and I are scheduled for Thursday.

I’m not in your county, but when I got called by my county for their appointments, they kept trying until they caught me. In fact their first voicemail was “This is the county health department. Next time you see a call from this number please answer. It’s us trying to schedule your vaccination.” So apparently they’re used to the idea that nobody, but nobody answers calls from numbers unknown to them.

I missed their second call but once I answered the third call I could tell them I’d already made other arrangements.

Got my 1st Pfizer (I believe) this afternoon. T + 90 minutes and no symptoms at all, only a slight muscle twinge for about 5 minutes after the shot.

Part 2 completed! Again well organized and quick and professional. A big sign outside: over 100,000 people vaccinated. Reminded me of McDonald’s!
