Who’s been vaccinated?

I got my second Pfizer shot today. I have no side effects so far and only had a mildly sore arm when I got the first shot so hopefully I won’t have any major side effects this time either.

Just got my first shot today - became eligible in CA on Thursday. Thanks to my wife for finding an appointment for me (she’s already fully vaccinated).

Me me me! Today! About an hour ago!

I drove nearly 4 hours for my first shot of Moderna. Worth it!!!

That’s great, squeegee! One more to go.

I’m glad the drive was so pretty. It’s the exact right time of the year to go to the central valley.

I have an immune system disorder and am generally in poor health, so I’ve been very careful throughout the pandemic. I’m a great believer in vaccines. I recently got my first shot - the Pfizer vaccine - while sitting in the car in the parking lot of a shuttered Sears store, and was thrilled to get it. No side-effects at all that I could tell. Can’t wait to get my follow-up. I’m looking forward to a proper haircut, and I’m gonna treat my sister to a decent meal at a decent, sit-down restaurant.

Wife and I got our first shot (Pfizer) on Wednesday at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids. It was like a well-oiled machine. We were part of the 42,000 vaccinated at this location this week. We made appointments for 2:15, and when we got there, there was a line with what must’ve been 150-200 hundred people, snaking through the massive room like a line at Disney World. We were through the line, got our shots and were out in 45 minutes. Sat in the observation room for 15 minutes. Back in our car one hour after arriving.

Our arms were pretty sore for a couple days. My wife said the shot itself was the least-painful one she’s ever had. I thought the opposite; it felt like they were injecting hot liquid into my arm. Other than sore arms, I felt very dry mouthed that night, throat felt scratchy and tight. It was likely all in my imagination. We both felt fatigued that night too. But nothing since then.

Can’t wait for #2 and for kids under 16 to be approved for a vaccine now. My 12-year-old son’s been very cautious/nervous about doing anything extracurricular, so he’s very eager to get a shot, despite being terrified of shots. He wants to get back to Tae Kwon Do and church youth group.

The county I work for has all their ducks in a row. The vaccines are given in a drive through bus barn. That’s where the buses park at night and or are serviced. They had 5 bays open. Each bay had two vaccine stations. Sure I was in line, in my car, for 30 minutes, but it was really no hassle. Never got out of the car.

Had my second Pfizer shot Thursday. Got a slight headache for a few hours.

My county:

They are doing about 10K vaccines per day.

16 lines of cars with 2 people giving shots per line I believe.

The 15 minute wait after the shot was the longest part of the process.

I got my second Moderna and came down with some pretty intense flu-like symptoms (minus the cough). I started feeling fatigue and momentary confusion late afternoon and evening, which I attributed to poor sleep the night before. Turns out these were likely the first signs that my immune response was kicking into high gear – which I see as a good thing. Had the chills, headaches, and a fever, but am gradually getting better. Still feel like a drank three bottles of champagne but the headaches are starting to subside.

I received my second dose of the Moderna vaccine yesterday. Compared to the first dose, I felt much less sore in my upper arm, but last night I developed a mild fever and felt somewhat delirious the whole night, waking up all sweaty and lethargic.

So far today, I seem to be recovering quickly from the aftereffects, and I hope the worst of it is behind me.

Just got my first dose of Pfizer today, hooray! It was a walk-through location at the local civic auditorium; they’re doing 5000 people a day there. It was extremely easy and efficient and I could barely even feel the shot. Being there with all those people in such a massive, well organized effort, everyone masked and all those people dispensing assembly-line injections was surreal. But surreal in a good way.

It’s only been a few hours - no reaction so far except maybe a little soreness at the injection site. I’m happy.

My wife and I got our first shot of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday (Friday). We live in the Chicago area, where getting an appointment has been very challenging, but we learned that there’s a public vaccination site in Springfield (the state capital, about 3 hours south), with plenty of appointments available. So, we set up an appointment, and made the drive.

The vaccination site was in a building on the state fairgrounds, and was run by the Illinois Air National Guard. There were really no lines to speak of, and the National Guard folks were very pleasant and very helpful. After we got through the paperwork (about five minutes), we were getting our shots, and our appointments for shot #2 in three weeks.

Neither of us experienced any side effects, other than a little tenderness in the upper arm.

Wanted to add some tips:
We took Tylenol and after the 2nd doses we took Tylenol Cold and Flu which probably alleviated my major symptoms from medium to mild/medium.
Folks asked me why my mom did drive-thru and I did go in a bldg. When the Drive-Thru was open, only mom a senior was eligible. It was a lucky relief cuz the Clinic one that was accepting everyone, you had to wait standing in line outside. I waited an hour before I could enter clinic. That was with everyone with appts, they were an hr late on mine. They didn’t want a whole bunch of people inside the room.

1st dose of Pfizer in my arm, sitting in observation for another 7 minutes. 2nd dose scheduled for 3 weeks out. Woo hoo!

Mass vaccination site. In line a bit, but the line was moving at a steady walking pace. I had to have a consultation about allergies, but they decided I only needed to wait 15 minutes.

Got my first Pfizer dose today. It was a drive through clinic with about 100 cars in rows of 5. Next appointment in three weeks.

Second Pfizer today.
It’s my understanding they were only doing second shots there, now.
Including the 15 wait, I was in and out in 20 minutes.

Six hours later, my arm hurts and has a good sized bump at the injection site. That’s it, so far. :crossed_fingers:t2:

I finally got an appointment and its for Thursday and only 20 minutes away!

I don’t know which one yet, but it sounds like one of the 2 dose vaccines. Either way, I’m happy.

I just got my second Pfizer shot today. Now all adults in my immediate family are fully vaccinated.

1st dose of Pfizer on board. I signed up this morning.
