Who Says I Made This At The End Of The X-Files?

While I have nothing to go on but just my intuition (sort of the way I live my life, by the way), I’ve long felt that the voice of the kid who says “I made this” over a shot of a fuzzy film clip at the end of each X-Files episode is likely to be the son of series creator Chris Carter. Am I, in fact, correct? Is the truth out there, anyone?

I think that’s correct. Chris Carter’s production company, Ten Thirteen, is named after the ages of his children at the time of its inception and his wife’s birthday. You’ll notice that Scully’s phone number also ends in 1013.

From the IMDB:

“I made this,” the words spoken over the Ten Thirteen company name, are spoken by Nathan Couturier, son of the supervising sound editor, Thierry Couturier.

Yep, according to the official episode guide, it’s the sound man’s son.

BTW, the name of 1013 Productions comes from creator Chris Carter’s birthday, 10/13/56. Information on other inside jokes and references in the X Files can be found at this site:
