Who should be the next host of "Jeopardy!"?

I thought Buzzy was excellent. He is now my number one choice to take over as permanent host.

The game is supposed to move fast.

I am leery of a grown man named “Buzzy.”

I’m confused by the final Jeopardy question. Germans settled in Texas long before the invention of the tank.

From the other thread, it means “armored pig”

Brian

Ok, that makes more sense than “tank pig”.

That was how I interpreted it, so I thought feral hog and never ever would have got armadillo.

I knew it was “armadillo”, and I know enough German to guess what “panzerschwein” would translate to. In fact, I started laughing. If I’d been on the show and done that, I wonder if it would have been a giveaway to my opponents.

Mrs. Cretin (who doesn’t speak German) figured it out in seconds as “Tank Pig” = armadillo. I was impressed.

I had to opt out because I saw this thread before the show, but my husband also got it.

I like this Buzzy guy. Number 2 on my list:

  1. Cooper
  2. Buzzy
  3. Couric (I know, I know)
  4. Whitaker
  5. Jennings
  6. Rodgers
  7. Oz (Nothing to do with his beliefs; just bad enunciation)

So far my favorite host has been Sackbut Travers.

Here are my current rankings:

  1. Anderson Cooper
  2. Mike Richards
  3. Ken Jennings
  4. Aaron Rodgers
  5. Buzzy Cohen
  6. Katie Couric
  7. Bill Whitaker
  8. Dr. Oz

And no comments about Buzzy’s eyebrows?

I’m liking Buzzy, and I’m beginning to think the fact that he was chosen for the TOC could be a sign he will be the permanent host. Not ready to put money on it just yet, but…

He hides them behind those goofy glasses.

Buzzy has gone to my number one position. His rhythm and pacing is spot on. His enthusiasm shines and I think he puts the contestants at ease. And he has toned it down as the days have gone by. I would like to see him as the permanent host.

I was referring to the times when they’re over an inch ABOVE the glasses.

Loving the job Buzzy is doing, but sweet jeebus, that Ken doll hairdo.

I had this same thought after last week, he has had the best timing so far and by that I mean he doesn’t have a pause after the contestant answer and has a better overall flow.

Acutally just feeling the winds of the current zeitgeist, I have no option but to change to the following easy ringers:

Shaq
Nick Cave
Masha Gessen (could take some persuading and $$$$$)
Betty White, 99
Jeremy Roenick

I actually didn’t like him when he was a contestant, but he has easily moved to the top of my list. He is totally engaging, well spoken/easy to understand, not to mention his enthusiasm and sense of humor, something Alex really lacked. Alex’s interviews were often cringeworthy.

The only one I thought was a good fit was Richards, but the sex harassment stuff from his past really soured me on him, let him go back to his producing duties and keep him away from decisions involving women. He has a list of producer credits ongoing that should keep him busy.

I also think Buzzy is doing very well, and would not be averse to him getting the permanent job. What makes it more remarkable is that, apart from having been a contestant, I don’t think that he has any previous broadcasting experience.

He also has–how shall I put it?–an unusual look that makes him rather memorable.
