Who should be the next host of "Jeopardy!"?

I loved it when Mayim said she knew about “Hadassah,” even though none of the contestants did.

Bialik is doing okay, but she seems to laugh at every question she personally considers to be on TOO trivial a topic for her trivia show.

This is probably sexist of me, but Bialik’s “You got it!” exclamations are drifting into Katie Couric’s condescending enthusiasm territory - as described above, “like complimenting a toddler on stacking 3 blocks on top of each other”.

Am I the only one who cares that all three contestants misspelled Richelieu (as “Richilieu”) in FJ? Yes, yes, they don’t take off for spelling, but still.

Kind of like Trebek’s “A very bright young lady!”

I was shocked they all got it right. I had never even heard of that guy. Ever.

Watch this movie and this movie as soon as you can. You’re welcome.

Were you going for goofy? Another thing I like about him is his lack of self importance. He knows the show isn’t about him and he’s fine with that.

I’ll say right out front that I’ve only seen her on a few episodes of the Big Bang Theory and I did not like her in that at all.

Per the wooden voice, I agree. It’s like she’s trying so hard to overenunciate the words the sentence comes out as flat and wooden.

I’m almost afraid to ask, what’s her problem with vaccinations? Is it the Orthodox Jew thing?

Well, I’m sooo smarter than you, because while I thought he was fictional, I jokingly used him as my answer because I couldn’t think of any other French court minister. I had only known him from The Three Musketeers. One of those times where my ignorance worked out in my favor. :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t really have any reason to think it’s related to her religion. She’s all for some vaccines (she’s fully on board with the COVID vaccine) and claims to be a big fan, but then starts pointing out that maybe we don’t need them all and maybe they’re just a money grab and maybe her kids don’t have all of the recommended vaccines and maybe Hepatitis B isn’t really needed and maybe some of the vaccine stuff is scare mongering and so on and so forth.

Here is her video where she tells us that she’s not anti-vax and then goes on to tout a number of items straight from their playbook. I also find it interesting that the first of her vaccine information links is to Children’s Health Defense, which is RFK Jr.s main anti-vax group.

Thanks for the link. I could only make it thru about five minutes, she annoys me too much. She sure seems to be heavily on the anti vax side. I hate when someone brings the kids into an argument to bolster their side but then refuse to answer when people ask questions about them. If you didn’t want to talk about your kids, don’t bring them up in the first place. I also kind of tune out a person who uses Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Carrot etc. as the starting point for their argument.

Sorry for the hijack folks!

I didn’t want a big hijack, but figured if we can discount Dr. Oz for being a nut-job in this thread, she shouldn’t get off the hook.

He looks like Mr. Burns’s lawyer.

omg, you’re right.

For reference:

I was impressed during the category “Deaths of Literary Characters”, when Mayim read the line, “No one was with her when she died” without a hitch. I could barely choke out the answer without bursting into tears.

There must be more than one answer to that clue?!?

Not with the full clue, which read, “Nobody at the fair ‘knew that a grey spider had played the most important part of all. No one was with her when she died’”

Ah… ok.

Watched for the first time in a couple weeks…

My God! Annoying Host, Annoying Champion, Annoying Challenger. That was a forgettable half-hour of TV. I was glad for the commercial breaks!

Think I’ll skip the next few days.

So Bialik did pretty well, though her chuckle on every other answer got a little tiring. But damn, whoever picked out her dress for her last day needs an eye exam. Pepto-Bismol is never an attractive color, but it’s clash with the blue background was blinding.
