Wrong. In addition to what other posters have here have said, a lot of people at the private Jeopardy Contestants group are critical of Mayim, and would not be happy if she was made the permanent host.

Yes, she can. You can break a contract. The consequence would just be losing money.
She always has some excuse. But she keeps saying and doing these things.

Did you notice that when Ken comes out, Johnny says, “Hosting Jeopardy, Ken Jennings”?
Since he always said “The host of Jeopardy, Mayim Bialik,” I wonder if that means she’s going to be the permanent host. After they gave Richards the boot, the producers said Mayim and Ken would split the job for the rest of the year while they looked for a permanent host.
I haven’t been exactly scouring the Web for news, but they seem to have been pretty quiet about their search. It’s a pretty fair bet that one favorite, Aaron Rodgers, is off the short (and long) list, and I personally think Mayim should be, too.
Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it seems like a sign.
If you want to read into things, yesterday, Ken’s first day hosting, was the anniversary of Alex’s death.
What do you read in that?
Me? Nothing. But you saw a sign in how the announcer introduced Ken, so I thought you might find a sign in when they chose to start Ken’s current run as guest host.
I should cut Bialik a little slack-afaik, no actual snakes were harmed in the making of her brain pills.
What sucks is we think she’s a great host. Better than Alex.
But i don’t think woo and snake oil (even synthetic snake oil) peddlers should be on J!
There are reports today Dr. Oz is considering running for the Senate.
If I had to choose an either/or, I’d rather have these people hosting Jeopardy.
Interesting article. Apparently staff are divided on how Mayim is fitting in.
That article makes the J staff sound really whiny and petty. “She doesn’t wear the clothes we want her to!”. And “we want an exact clone of St Alex.”
If it weren’t for her personal medical woo beliefs, I’d say make her the permanent host. I don’t want another Alex.
Yeah, that article seems very clickbaity to me. If the worst thing the staff can find to say about her is “We don’t like her clothes,” that’s not particularly scandalous.
I think her clothes are fine, not that I pay much attention. I do look at what glasses she is wearing…
