Who should I vote for? (Mar 1 primary)

Unfortunately, not really.

[li]Hillary strikes me as the most experienced and competent, but there’s something about her that bugs me, and I can’t quite put my finger on it. [/li]
Me too. Me neither.

Nah, she’s put up with way too much media abuse to sustain herself on ambition alone. And when she was a Senator she was more of a workhorse than a showhorse.

I think she’s a mediocre orator and not especially telegenic. She’s also really guarded because she knows the media will jump on her. She’s been burnt before. All this makes her look artificial. She’s a stateswoman, not a celebrity.

In short, you should try to ignore the crapola of which there are mountains.

Interestingly enough, apparently the Texas Republican party didn’t bother to pare down the ballots; I could still have voted for Lindsay Graham, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, or even someone named Elizabeth Gray(?), if I so desired.

Since you’re in Texas, if you want to stop Donald Trump, vote for Ted Cruz. He needs 50% to deny Trump all the Texas delegates. Cruz can no longer win the nomination, so there’s little risk in giving him Texas.

[li]Hillary strikes me as the most experienced and competent, but there’s something about her that bugs me, and I can’t quite put my finger on it. It’s like the vein of self-aggrandizement is closer to the surface or something. Like a feeling that she’s doing this out of ambition and competition with Bill, not out of a desire to serve the people. [/li]
We got out of debt, had a great economy, and was peaceful under Bill. If Hillary’s going to try and one-up that, I’d say good for her. What’s the worst that can happen? We eliminate our debt, have a new startup boom, and don’t start any wars? That’s a win whatever side of the political spectrum you stand on

Hillary and Bill have disowned most of the policies that led to the good times, while still trying to take credit for the results.

As opposed to the Republicans who have disowned all their opposition to the policies that led to the good times, while still trying to take credit for the results.

You think wrong, obviously.

Obviously this is after the fact, but I just want to add in my philosophy on this. My vote is statistically insignificant. Technically, it does count, but one in a sea of millions is negligible. So I don’t see the point in attempting some sort of “if I do this, and enough other people do that too, then we’ll keep this person out of office,” unless there’s some sort of true organized attempt that holds people accountable (which is probably either illegal or impossible).

So I figure, with my insignificant vote, I will use my teeny-tiny voice to indicate the candidate that I want. Incidentally, the candidate I voted for yesterday did pretty poorly in my state, but hey, at least I gave him my support. It would suck worse if he did poorly and I hadn’t even supported him.
