Who Should Replace Nancy Pelosi and Her Cronies?//Should Pelosi step aside to let younger leaders in

Dick Gephardt didn’t have a uterus.

I was specifically responding to the allegation that Nancy Pelosi doesn’t care about her constituents. My point was that whether or not she is effective in winning seats for Democrats in conservative districts, she is a great representative of the district she represents, and cares deeply about the issues that matter to us.

Well even the conservative Michael Moore is saying Pelosi needs to go. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2017/06/21/left-winger-michael-moore-torches-dnc-democrats-have-no-leader-plans-or-a-mess-n2344645

I have a feeling those two statements are not connected in the way someone would normally think. When you say “she’s doing great”, do you mean mainly for the Democrats or the Republicans?

I sure do!

I thought so!

The margin of the Georgia vote was sufficiently close that I doubt it could be seen as a particular endorsement or a particular rejection for either party or their leaderships.

Well, I doubt it could be so seen by anybody not prone to Trumpian exaggeration.

This exactly.

It was the same here in GA 6th - almost all of Karen Handel’s ads tried to associated Ossoff with Pelosi. I would say 90% of the anti-Ossoff ads mentioned her. And I would say, from the outcome, they worked.

To think that the rest of America’s views of Nancy aren’t relevant is pretty naïve.

To answer seriously: I do think she’s unfairly vilified.

She’s a fantastic asset in terms of parliamentary skill, a superb legislative strategist…a perfect Whip. As Speaker (and as Minority Leader) she’s too visible a target, and this offsets her value to Democrats.

If I were trying to help Democrats, I’d ask Pelosi to serve as Whip and stop trying to lead on policy issues. And I’d ask Tim Ryan, OH-13, to consider stepping into a leadership role with an eye towards becoming Speaker or Minority Leader.

But I’d rather see Pelosi continue.

We can’t have minority and majority leader with the last name of Ryan.

The voters in Pelosi’s home district all have indoor toilets. Not sure about those in SC-5.

Let’s see…in no particular order: [ul]
[li]Gerrymandering that makes legislative district maps look like Jackson Pollack threw up on them[/li][li]Big Money (e.g. the Koch Bros, biggest walking arguments for estate tax that ever lived)[/li][li]The rank stupidity of the average voter.[/li][/ul]

You mean Michael has finally stopped devoting his life to wacko conspiracy theories?

How’s that working out for ya’ ?

Replace Pelosi with a plaster bust of Jerome Lester Horwitz, and replace Schumer with a Ford 429 side-oiler.

I see no reason to replace Pelosi given that whoever would replace her would inevitably get the same treatment.

Ha ha! Stupid subhumans living in poverty!

Fuck that noise.

Seems a fair response when the OP so thoroughly vilified everyone. You make up stuff about Pelosi having “cronies” meaning she’s doing secret illegal stuff, and you kinda get what you get.

And I don’t see pointing out poverty as a sign of calling someone subhuman. It just means “Hey, you’re guys are making you poorer, while our guys are making us richer.” It’s simplistic bullshit, but I don’t see how it calls them subhuman.

That seems to only work if you assume poor means subhuman.

Stick around, find out.

You haven’t been in Pelosis district, have you? At least SCians use an actual toilet.

As opposed to…?

Oh, riiiiiight. Pelosi’s district includes San Francisco, doesn’t it? Where, y’know, everybody’s a gay piss freak who gets turned on by golden showers.

And I get vilified for painting with a broad brush. Yowza. :dubious:
