Who The Heck Is "Carrot Top"?

I was wondering if the ANNOYING dude in the AT&T Call Collect ads - the “just dial down the center” promos - on the radio these days is a real persona, or what? Is he supposed to be funny? He is so ANNOYING!!! Maybe he’s just a self-made legend in his own mind?

Say, that reminds me! Where’s my carrot peeler?

  • Jinx :little devil:

He used to be an asinine prop comic. Now he’s an asinine AT&T spokesman.

As I must always add when Carrot Top is mentioned; he is also the most famous alumni of my college, Florida Atlantic University.

Sad, isn’t it?

Why, he’s Scott Thompson, of course!

Look to the red headed comedy man now doing phone commercials , Can’t miss that hair , Your friend Carol

He’ the personification of all that is not funny.

He’s the personification of all that is not funny.

Mockingbird, I don’t know if that was intentional or not, but it certainly deserved to be said twice.

He’s what happened when Malachi from Children of the Corn grew up.

Ah, http://www.carrottop.com/

“He is so ANNOYING!!!”

I guess im lucky they don’t caption his ads?

He’s not nearly as funny as Bobby Hill’s favorite comic, CeleryHead.

I haven’t seen him do his stand up for a long time, but for what it’s worth, I saw him once on stage and he cracked me up.

I’m guessing it was over 10 years ago now.

I think that those annoying phone commercials are the last stop on the entertainment trail before you are booted out of Hollywood completely.

"Who The Heck Is “Carrot Top”?

A waste of oxygen, more annoying than Oprah.

Smite him, Oh Lord!

No – actually it’s the second-to-last stop: He’s currently involved in the last stop, a (second) week on “Hollywood Squares.”

The Onion had an article headlined: “No one at AT&T recalls hiring Carrot Top”.

I’m thinking he’s Satan incarnate. Think about it…the red hair, the fact that he has a job, and have you ever noticed that you can’t stare directly at his face for too long??

Man is he buff. Did you check out all his pictures from IMDB? He has a very cut chest and his arms look strong too. His standup was either completely hilarious or completely off. He had no middle ground. He was often the brunt of late night talk show jokes about unfunny comedians which I always thought was odd because late night talk show hosts are typically not nearly as funny as he was nor as consistently.

You’re frightening me…

But not to be confused with the better Scott Thompson

Ow! I knew I shouldn’t have clicked on that. handy, his AT&T commercials are to ears what his website is to eyes.
