Sometimes, when checking a linked thread (or looking for a post to link to), I’ll come across a post of my own that reads like a completely different person to me.
I’ll wonder: What was I thinking/feeling/drinking when I wrote that?
Not always embarrassing stuff, just things said that I wonder about now.
And I haven’t even been here a year!
What does it feel like to read a 3 or 4 year old post of yours?
In GD threads, does your position ever change?
In Cafe or MPSIMS, does your taste in things change?
In the Pit, are you calmer? Angrier? More pithy? A jokester now and not then (or vice versa)?
Open to anyone, btw, not just long timers. I look forward to your input.
I figure you’re not asking me, but I’ll answer anyway.
I used to be an evangelical Christian when I was first here, so that’s changed my GD perspectives a bit.
My taste in things has been fairly consistent, I’d imagine – I’ve never been big on media and pop culture, with a few fairly consistent exceptions.
I’m significantly meaner and more snarky in the Pit than I was in the past.
I find it rather humorous that it appears that the best way to scare a Doper is often to say that you’re going to read all their old posts. I’m off to read all your old posts now, NoClueBoy, vivalostwages and clayton_e.
Hasn’t been a decade for me, yet, but god it will be in like 3 years! Ahhh! I’m going to have to bury some embarassing stuff. And find a way to off Google.
Hi back at ya, all you “Hi” sayers!
It was a GD thread that got me to sign up in the first place, but I rarely post in GD anymore. So many debates are just arguments, esp if I’m involved.
And those old ENT threads in Cafe? Who ARE these people?
Fortunately google seems to have missed a fair number of my earlier posts, from the days when I used AOL, but there are still enough left to embarass me. While I wasn’t as bad as the stereotypical AOL kid, I was pretty bratty and stuck up.
My running defence is that evil gnomes hacked into google and changed all my old posts to make me look bad.
Almost all my posts make me quirk an eyebrow when reading over them. 'Course, it doesn’t help that most of the people I converse with do the same. :dubious:
Bunch of no-life loser geeks, I should imagine.
Heck, I don’t even know what ENT stands for! Really! Must be some dork thing for which I am far too cool.
hi there, by the way.
I never go back to read my posts from months of olde, because I remember what I wrote, and most of it embarrasses me. Hell, what I wrote five minutes ago embarrasses. I haven’t been here long enough to have changed my political views, personal beliefs, etc. - I just tend to post stupid shit without previewing, and then regret it.
