Who was the LEO who said "I'll take a bullet before you do" in the San Bernadino massacre?

Does anyone know? It almost brought me to tears, seeing the horror of the people and the strength of the words.

I don’t have the answer but I (too) was blown away by him saying that. He projected just the degree of calm that those people needed.

Of course the cynic in me probably would have thought “Oh great, where will that leave US?” Assuming I wasn’t busy changing into dry underwear. Some people are just a lot braver than others and this gentleman is the kind I’d want on my police force.
